About The Role

As Head of IT, you will be responsible for developing and delivering the organisation’s IT strategy, ensuring technology supports operational delivery, business growth and future transformation.

Based at our Head Office in Portland, Dorset, this is a full-time office-based leadership role where you will provide direction to the IT function, oversee service delivery and work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to understand business needs and deliver effective technology solutions.

The role combines strategic leadership with operational responsibility, including ownership of the Microsoft 365 and SharePoint environments, ensuring they remain secure, effective and aligned with organisational requirements.

You Will

  • Develop and deliver an IT strategy aligned with the organisation’s objectives, supporting growth, digital transformation and continuous improvement.
  • Lead, support and develop the IT team, providing clear direction, mentorship and guidance while ensuring the effective delivery of day-to-day IT services across the organisation.
  • Have strong practical experience of Microsoft 365 and SharePoint, including the day-to-day management, administration, configuration, user access, permissions and optimisation of these platforms.
  • Ensure IT systems and services remain secure, reliable and fit for purpose through effective cybersecurity measures, governance frameworks, policies and compliance with relevant standards.
  • Lead technology projects and transformation initiatives from concept through to implementation, managing resources, budgets, risks, timelines and stakeholder expectations.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external technology partners, including Managed Service Providers (MSPs), managing supplier performance, contracts, Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and service improvements.
  • Monitor IT performance, identify opportunities for improvement and manage the IT budget effectively, ensuring technology investment delivers value and supports organisational priorities.
