Head of IT

Coventry (Hybrid) | £75,000 - £85,000 | Flexible Working | Career Development Opportunities

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the current IT function and develop a comprehensive IT strategy and roadmap
  • Lead technology improvement initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness across the business
  • Support future acquisitions from an IT integration and infrastructure perspective
  • Review and optimise existing ERP systems, identifying opportunities for improvement and standardisation
  • Manage and develop relationships with third-party technology suppliers and service providers
  • Determine which IT functions should be retained externally and which should be brought in-house
  • Provide strategic technology guidance to senior stakeholders across the organisation
  • Drive continuous improvement across systems, processes, infrastructure, and IT governance

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a senior IT leadership position within aerospace, manufacturing, or engineering environments
  • Strong ERP systems experience with exposure to multiple platforms
  • Demonstrable success in developing and implementing IT strategies and technology roadmaps
  • Experience managing third-party suppliers and outsourced IT services
  • Understanding of IT's role in supporting business acquisitions and integration activities
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with operational delivery

Desirable Experience

  • Experience leading technology transformation programmes
  • Background in multi-site or complex manufacturing operations
  • Exposure to M&A activity and post-acquisition systems integration
  • Knowledge of modern IT governance, security, and infrastructure best practices

  • Salary: £75,000 - £85,000
  • Working Pattern: Hybrid working arrangement with 2-3 onsite presence required
