Head of IT Operations (Azure) Solihull / Remote
Join a growing technology led bank as Head of IT Operations, taking ownership of service delivery, service transition, operational governance and change management across a complex technology estate.
This is not a pure infrastructure engineering or people-management role. As Head of IT Operations you'll be a key operational SME, ensuring technology services are introduced, changed and managed safely, reliably and efficiently within a regulated banking environment.
The bank has an established Azure environment supporting and integrating multiple business systems, alongside an AWS platform operated by a recently integrated business that has historically worked with a more entrepreneurial and less formal approach to technology operations. A key priority will be bringing these environments together and introducing appropriate bank grade service management, governance and controls without creating unnecessary bureaucracy or slowing delivery.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
