Dexters IT Operations Leadership Opportunity

Dexters is London’s leading independent estate agency. With a fast-paced, dynamic environment and a continuous growth strategy, we rely on a robust, scalable, and secure IT infrastructure to keep our branches connected and our business moving forward. We are looking for an experienced and strategic Head of IT Operations to lead our technical teams and manage our core infrastructure.

As the Head of IT Operations, you will be responsible for the day-to-day performance, security, and strategic evolution of Dexters' IT infrastructure. You will lead a dedicated IT team and play a pivotal role in integrating newly acquired businesses into our core systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background spanning both Microsoft and Google ecosystems, coupled with excellent leadership and project management skills.

Location: Hanworth

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 D.O.E

Hours: Full-time (in office)

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the IT Operations and Support teams, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Project Planning: Oversee the end-to-end planning and delivery of IT infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and with minimal disruption to the business.
  • Acquisition Integration: Play a lead role in the IT onboarding of newly acquired branches and businesses, migrating legacy systems to Dexters' standard IT infrastructure smoothly and securely.

Infrastructure & Operations

  • Hybrid Environments: Manage and optimise our hybrid infrastructure, demonstrating deep expertise in Microsoft Active Directory (Hybrid), Azure, and Microsoft 365.
  • Google Workspace: Administer and support our Google Workspace environment, ensuring seamless collaboration across the business.
  • Network Management: Oversee the configuration, maintenance, and security of corporate networks, including routing, firewalls, and switches.
  • Telephony Systems: Manage and scale enterprise VoIP and telephony systems across our extensive network of branches.
  • Hardware Inventory: Maintain accurate hardware asset management, overseeing the lifecycle of corporate devices from procurement to decommissioning.

Security, Identity & Continuity

  • Access Management: Manage and optimise Identity and Access Management (IAM) protocols, including SSO (Single Sign-On) configurations.
  • Core Services: Maintain critical network services, with a strong understanding of network architecture and management.
  • Disaster Recovery: Oversee and test DRaaS (Disaster Recovery as a Service) protocols to ensure business continuity and data integrity in the event of an outage.

Required Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you must have a proven track record in senior IT Operations management, with hands-on knowledge and experience in the following areas:

  • Cloud & Productivity: Strong administrative experience across both Microsoft 365 / Azure and Google Workspace.
  • Identity & Directory: Deep knowledge of Microsoft AD in a Hybrid environment and SSO integrations (e.g., Entra ID).
  • Networking: Solid understanding of network architecture, DNS, and physical network hardware (switches, routers, firewalls).
  • Continuity: Experience implementing and managing DRaaS solutions.
  • Telecoms: Proven experience managing multi-site telephony systems.
  • Business Integration: Previous experience handling IT migrations and acquisition integrations is highly desirable.
  • Operations & Logistics: Experience in strict hardware inventory management and structured project planning.
  • Leadership: Demonstrable team leadership skills.
  • ITIL V4 best practices (including Incident, Problem, and Change Management, and Service Asset and Configuration Management)
  • Business Skills: Strong commercial awareness and ability to align IT strategy with overall business objectives.
  • Internal Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Departmental Collaboration: Proven experience collaborating effectively with other departments to drive business initiatives.
  • Leadership Ability: Strong leadership presence with the ability to inspire, influence, and manage cross-functional teams.
