Join the Close Brothers Technology Team where you will lead the Bank’s first-line IT Risk capability, with accountability for the IT Risk Management Framework and the provision of clear, decision-useful risk insight across Technology.
Working as part of the Enterprise Services team our ideal team member will have previous experience in IT Risk, Technology Risk or Operational Risk within a regulated environment with excellent stakeholder influence.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Bank’s first-line IT Risk capability, providing direction and coordination across technology teams in how IT risks are identified, articulated and escalated
- Own and maintain the IT Risk Management Framework, including methodologies, standards and guidance
- Maintain a consolidated, forward-looking view of the Bank’s IT risk profile
- Provide risk input and challenge into major technology programmes, strategic initiatives and operating model changes
- Embed risk identification, assessment and control thinking into engineering practices, including backlog prioritisation, design decisions, change delivery and service operation
- Ensure clear role boundaries and avoid duplication across risk, control and assurance activities
- Provide consolidated risk visibility across cloud, third party and supply chain exposures
- Empower, nurture and engage team members in an inclusive culture through coaching, mentoring and team-development in order to increase the performance of the individual and the team

Developing Our People
As a line manager, you will be responsible for inspiring and motivating your team, as well as developing performance through coaching. You will encourage your team to take responsibility for their own personal development and provide support through regular feedback.
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE
- Deep understanding of risk frameworks and how they operate in practice
- An ability to translate complex risk information into clear, decision-useful insight
- Strong stakeholder influence at senior leadership level
- Experience supporting executive and board-level risk discussions
IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE
- Experience in UK banking / PRA-regulated environment
- Exposure to cloud, resilience, outsourcing and emerging technology risk
- Relevant qualifications (CRISC, CISA, CISSP, etc.)
