Head of IT Services
Founded in 1741 and located in the heart of Edinburgh, George Watson's College (Watson’s) is one of Scotland's most respected independent schools, educating around 2,300 pupils aged 3 to 18 across our Preschool, Junior and Senior Schools. We are seeking a new Head of IT Services to lead the delivery, development and future direction of technology across the school. Reporting to the Chief Finance and Operating Officer, you will lead a team of IT professionals and oversee a diverse technology landscape supporting teaching, learning, administration and campus operations.

This is a highly visible leadership role, combining strategic planning with hands-on delivery. You'll shape and deliver the school's digital roadmap, drive technology-enabled change, enhance digital capability across the organisation and ensure technology remains a trusted enabler of educational excellence and operational effectiveness.
The role requires an experienced technology leader who can operate confidently at both strategic and operational levels. Candidates should bring a proven track record of leading IT services, delivering digital transformation and aligning technology with organisational objectives. A strong understanding of Microsoft 365, AI-powered productivity tools and digital adoption would be beneficial.
Most importantly, you'll be a collaborative, forward-thinking and values-driven leader, with the credibility to inspire confidence, challenge existing thinking and help shape the digital future of one of Scotland's most respected educational institutions.
