Head of Key Account Management
St Albans | Office Based – Monday to Friday – needs to be based in or near St Albans.
£75,000 - £85,000 + Car Allowance + Uncapped Commission (OTE £100,000+)
Are you an ambitious and commercially driven sales leader looking for your next challenge? Do you have the ability to inspire teams, grow customer relationships, and drive significant revenue within a fast-paced construction-related business? If so, we have an outstanding opportunity to join a thriving and highly respected organisation based in St Albans.
We're looking for an exceptional Head of Key Account Management to lead and develop a team of six Key Account Managers, ensuring the retention, growth, and ongoing success of a valuable customer portfolio. Working closely with the Business Development team, you'll take ownership of customers once they've been won, nurturing long-term partnerships, identifying growth opportunities, and driving revenue across the business.
With a turnover of approximately £14 million, this is a commercially significant role that requires a strong leader who understands both sales and relationship management at a strategic level.

What You'll Be Doing
- Leading, coaching, and developing a team of six Key Account Managers
- Driving account retention, customer loyalty, and revenue growth
- Building strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders
- Identifying upselling and cross-selling opportunities across existing accounts
- Working closely with Business Development Managers to ensure smooth customer handovers
- Delivering against sales, retention, and growth targets
- Creating an engaging and motivating team environment
- Monitoring performance, setting objectives, and driving accountability
- Contributing to strategic business growth initiatives
- Ensuring exceptional customer experience across the account portfolio

Essential Experience
- Proven leadership experience managing a successful sales, account management, or customer relationship team
- Strong track record of achieving and exceeding commercial targets
- Experience managing key customer accounts and developing long-term partnerships
- Background within the construction, building products, construction supplies, manufacturing, distribution, or related sectors
- Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Ability to influence, motivate, and inspire others
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities
