Salary: £75,000.00 - £90,000.00 Per year

SNG is seeking a Head of Landlord Fire Safety, to lead compliance, shape strategy and drive excellence across our housing portfolio. A critical leadership role with a clear purpose: safeguarding customers through outstanding fire and building safety management.

This role will cover the whole of SNG's estate, therefore location can be flexible, although there will be regular meetings in Basingstoke and Wembley.

The Role

As SNG's Head of Landlord Fire Safety, you will be accountable for ensuring all fire safety responsibilities relating to the common parts of our buildings are effectively delivered, recorded and maintained. Leading a team of technical specialists, you will champion the safety of our customers, colleagues and all those who live in or visit our homes.

  • Lead and develop our Responsible Person – Fire, Building Safety Management and Fire teams, driving compliance across key areas including fire safety, building safety and fire door inspections.
  • Work proactively to ensure SNG remains ahead of evolving legislative and regulatory requirements, embedding a culture of compliance, accountability and continuous improvement across the organisation.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, providing constructive challenge to identify, assess and mitigate building safety risks, particularly within higher-risk buildings.
  • Bring significant technical expertise in fire safety, providing specialist guidance and recommendations across all aspects of fire and building safety.
  • Have overall responsibility for ensuring compliance with both passive and active fire protection measures, supporting SNG's commitment to creating safe, sustainable homes and communities.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent demonstrable knowledge and experience of fire and building safety.
  • Level 6 Diploma in Building Safety or working towards.
  • Practical Fire Risk Assessment (IFE Approved) / Fire Risk Assessment (IFE Approved).
  • NEBOSH Fire Safety & Risk Management (Level 3).
  • Track record of meeting deadlines and working effectively with others in a complex and dynamic environment.
  • Evidence of excellent customer service achievements in a complex delivery environment.
  • Experience of working in a housing environment.
  • Ability to validate and impact assess, to escalate data issues as required.
  • Knowledge of methods to monitor the quality of data and identify issues e.g reconciliations.
  • Understanding of data breaches, associated implications and industry standards of preventing / triaging a breach.
