Head of L&D CIS

Head of Learning & Development (L&D) – CIS


About the Role

Reports To: The CIS Head of L&D is accountable for the development of the CIS learning and upskilling strategy, ensuring alignment with outcomes expected by CIS leaders under the guidance of the Global Head of GBLs Learning and CIS CHRO.

Hybrid Working Arrangement

Your working environment will be a blend of company offices, client sites, and home, though remote work will not be 100% of the time.


Your Role

Job Summary

The Head of L&D (CIS) is responsible for defining and executing the learning & development (L&D) and upskilling strategy across all CIS-operating countries. Your mission includes:

  • Designing and implementing onboarding programs, specific CIS methodologies, and technology upskilling/reskilling initiatives to foster a common mindset within the CIS GBL (Client Interaction Services).
  • Leveraging and adapting global learning solutions for Leadership Development, Compliance, Industry-Specific Upskilling, and enabling key audiences, such as:
    • Client Managers
    • Sales
    • Engagement Managers
    • Architects
    • Delivery Heads

You will lead a dual transformation agenda: ✔ Business Transformation: Support a significant shift within the organisation. ✔ L&D Transformation: Implement a new learning operating model and AI-driven (GenAI) tools to enhance global alignment and efficiency.


Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership
    • Define a cohesive L&D strategy based on CIS capability-building plans, setting annual targets aligned with business outcomes.
    • Collaborate with CHRO and business leaders to co-design unified learning approaches.
    • Cultivate a continuous learning culture and professional growth within CIS.

  • Learning Transformation & Innovation

    • Contribute to global Group L&D initiatives, including:
      • Designing learning experiences
      • Evolution of digital learning technology stack (leads pilots and explores new tools)
      • Enhancing learning insights and reporting capabilities
  • Learning Design & Delivery Coordination

    • Manage end-to-end development and deployment (from requirements to performance assessment) for all CIS programs.
    • Ensure alignment between group-level design and country-specific delivery to achieve desired outcomes.
  • "One Capgemini" Advocacy

    • Strengthen collaboration with other L&D functions across the group, championing a unified Capgemini mindset.
  • Budget Optimization & Efficiency

    • Consolidate the CIS learning budget and strategically allocate resources.
    • Orchestrate learning teams to streamline operations for maximum efficiency.
  • People Management

    • Lead all learning teams within CIS, as per Capgemini’s global operating model.
    • Current team size: <10 members.

Your Skills & Experience

Required Experience

  • 15–20 years of business experience, preferably in the technology industry.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Learning & Development at scale OR HR & Talent Development.
  • Critical technical acumen in Cloud, Cyber, and Infrastructure-managed services (essential for advisor role).
  • Experience in designing and implementing upskilling programs at scale.
  • Proven track record of presenting to senior business stakeholders.
  • Understanding and execution of technology upskilling initiatives.
