B&M - Leadership, Talent & Performance Manager

At B&M, our people are central to delivering our growth ambitions. As we continue to deliver our Reset Strategy, we're focused on building the leadership capability, talent pipelines and performance culture needed to create a high-performing organisation where colleagues can thrive and develop their careers.

As Leadership, Talent & Performance Manager, you will lead the Group's leadership development, talent management, succession planning and performance agenda. Working closely with senior leaders, People Partners and the wider People Function, you will design and deliver practical frameworks, programmes and interventions that strengthen leadership capability, build internal talent pipelines and embed the values and behaviours that support long-term business success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead Group-wide leadership, talent, succession and performance management frameworks, ensuring alignment with business priorities and future capability requirements.
  • Design and implement leadership development programmes, coaching approaches and targeted interventions that strengthen leadership effectiveness across the organisation.
  • Own talent management and succession planning processes, identifying critical roles and building robust internal pipelines for key business positions.
  • Drive the evolution of performance management practices, ensuring objectives, feedback and performance conversations support business outcomes and reinforce B&M's culture and values.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders and external providers to deliver high-quality leadership and talent solutions, using data, insight and feedback to continuously improve effectiveness.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
