Job Description
Your Role: Head of Learning and Development
At Global, we’re committed to helping every Globaller do the best work of their career. Reporting to the Director, Talent Development & Culture, the Head of Learning and Development will lead talent development and engagement initiatives that help our people grow, perform and build meaningful careers. This role will turn business and people priorities into development experiences that build the capabilities Global needs now and in the future.
The Head of Learning and Development at Global will shape and deliver a talent development agenda that supports Globallers, managers and leaders at every stage of their Global journey. They will partner with the wider People & Culture team and the business to create development and engagement experiences with lasting impact. This role will manage two team members – Talent Development Manager & Talent Development Lead and work closely with the Senior Culture & Inclusion Manager.
At Global, you will:
Key Responsibilities
- Core Development Offering: The design, delivery and success of our core development offering, to include the full L&D cycle from needs analysis, design and delivery, facilitation, coaching and measuring the impact of learning activities
- Leadership and Management Development: Lead our management and leadership development programmes and initiatives and work closely with managers to support them in driving performance
- Talent Management: Manage our development initiatives to include talent mapping, succession planning and top talent programmes
- Business Partnering: Alongside the People Partnering team, work with senior leaders and business stakeholders to identify skills gaps and develop, deliver and evaluate effective learning solutions
- Budget Management: Prepare, manage and review the annual development budget to ensure maximum ROI
- Engagement: Oversee the roll-out of our annual Brighter Survey engagement survey and work with senior leaders to develop department action plans

What Success Looks Like
In your first few months, you’ll have:
- Developed a clear view of Global’s current talent development offer, priorities and opportunities
- Partnered with stakeholders to understand learning needs and started shaping development initiatives that align with business priorities over the next 12 months
- Worked with the Director, Talent Development & Culture on our talent development approach to AI
- Begun planning for the next cohort of apprentices as part of our annual intake from the Global Academy

What You’ll Need
- L&D Portfolio Management: Expertise and experience managing a company-wide learning & development portfolio
- Leadership Development Programmes: Experience managing leadership development initiatives, to include the full learning needs cycle
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to connect business priorities and needs to our talent development strategy
- Stakeholder Management & Influencing: Confidence and previous experience working with senior stakeholders and building trusted partnerships across a diverse organisation
- Psychometric Tools: A qualification or relevant experience with individual / team assessment tools
- Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills, to include facilitating training and delivering presentations to senior leaders, in an engaging and compelling way
- Coaching and Development: Nurturing talent by empowering and guiding individuals to unlock their potential
- Building Trust: Creating and maintaining an inclusive environment where diverse views and experiences are welcomed and celebrated in your team
