Our Learning and Development team are looking for an experienced Head of Learning and Development to join them.

This is an exciting time to join Baringa as we continue to grow and strengthen the way we support our people to learn, develop, and thrive. We have strong L&D foundations and a newly developed learning strategy in place; now we’re looking for a commercially minded, forward-thinking leader who can bring that strategy to life and turn it into meaningful business impact. This role is about more than learning content design. It is about building a stronger learning culture: increasing engagement with our existing programmes, influencing senior leaders to prioritise development, shaping our approach to digital and AI-enabled learning, and leading a high-performing L&D function. As the lead for a strategic people area, this role will be part of our People Leadership Team.

What you will be doing

Implement our global L&D strategy

  • Own our global learning strategy, leading its implementation and ensuring it stays closely aligned to Baringa’s growth, commercial priorities, and people-first culture.
  • Work in partnership with senior leaders, HRBPs, and internal technical experts to identify the strategic capabilities we need to grow and remain competitive as a tech-savvy consultancy, particularly across digital, AI, software, and new ways of working.
  • Use data and insight to understand current and future capability gaps, focusing learning investment where it will make the biggest difference.
  • Act as a trusted strategic partner and credible learning expert to senior stakeholders, influencing priorities and helping leaders take ownership of learning outcomes.
  • Stay close to external trends in learning, technology, consulting, and AI, bringing fresh thinking and practical recommendations to continuously improve our L&D offer.

Drive learning adoption and culture change

  • Increase engagement, participation, and utilisation across Baringa’s learning offer, ensuring learning is visible, accessible, and valued across the firm.
  • Partner with leaders to remove barriers to learning, especially where client delivery and utilisation pressures can make development harder to prioritise.
  • Embed learning into the flow of work through practical, scalable approaches that reflect the pace and demands of a consulting and professional services environment.
  • Connect the L&D offer clearly to career development pathways, helping colleagues build the skills, confidence, and experiences they need to grow.
  • Work closely with the Head of Leadership Development and wider People teams to ensure learning, leadership development, talent, and broader people priorities feel joined up and easy to navigate.
  • Curate, deploy, and continually improve existing learning solutions, designing new interventions only where there is a clear business need and measurable value.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
