Head of Learning & Development (Global)
London, UK
About Datatonic
Datatonic is a leading global data and AI consultancy, driving business transformation for the world’s most ambitious brands. As a premier Google Cloud Partner, we combine cutting-edge technology with top-tier talent to deliver high-impact solutions across Cloud Data Engineering, Analytics, and Advanced Machine Learning/Generative AI.
We don't just implement technology; we foster a continuous learning culture. We are looking for a visionary, commercial, and deeply strategic Head of L&D to own our global learning ecosystem, scaling our internal technical excellence and commercialising our training expertise externally.
Role Overview
As the Head of Learning & Development (L&D), you will hold a dual-impact global role. Internally, you will shape the skills of our world-class team, ensuring Datatonic remains at the absolute forefront of Google Cloud and AI innovation. Externally, you will drive revenue and market presence by leveraging our internal training products to upsell and deliver high-value educational services to our clients.
You will lead the strategy for upskilling both deeply technical engineering teams and non-technical business functions, ensuring Datatonic is future-ready for the next 1–2 years of AI disruption.
Key Responsibilities
1. Internal Capability Building & Certification Strategy
- Google Cloud Mastery: Design and execute the global strategy to maintain Datatonic’s position as a top-tier partner, driving 100% alignment with achieving and maintaining Professional Google Cloud Certifications and Skill Badges across the technical workforce.
- Future-proof Learning: Build comprehensive curricula in AI and Generative AI. This includes technical deep-dives for data scientists/engineers and practical, impact-driven AI literacy programs for delivery, commercial, and non-technical teams over the next 1–2 years. It also includes ownership of our ‘Accelerator’ programs to reskill talent (e.g. our 8-week Software Engineer to AI Engineer program) and creation of new programs to meet our business needs.
- Role-Based Pathways: Develop clear, continuous learning paths for every role at Datatonic, blending technical mastery with essential consulting, leadership, and delivery skills.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
