About Rezzil

Rezzil creates performance products across B2B, B2C, and gaming, bringing together sport, data, and immersive technology across VR, mobile, and console. Our products are used by athletes, teams, players and fans, with a growing focus on mobile gaming, live data, connected experiences, and future AI and computer vision solutions. Alongside Rezzil, exar.live is our ingest and data transport system for live game data, powering our own analysis tools across VR and broadcast.

The opportunity

We are looking for a Head of Legal to lead Rezzil’s day-to-day legal function and provide practical, commercially focused advice as the business scales across the UK, US, and other international markets. This is a broad, hands-on role working closely with the executive team and senior leaders across Gaming, Performance, Media and Experiences. You will own our core legal work, help the business make well-informed decisions at pace and build the processes, templates and controls needed for the next stage of growth. You will know when to take a pragmatic view, when to challenge and when specialist external advice is required.

What you’ll do

  • Own, draft and negotiate Rezzil’s key commercial contracts, including customer, licensing, partnership, sponsorship, supplier, platform, software, cloud and technology agreements.
  • Support major strategic and commercial deals across Rezzil’s Gaming, Performance, Media and Experiences businesses, balancing legal protection with commercial momentum.
  • Lead on intellectual property and licensing matters, including ownership, protection and commercialisation of Rezzil’s technology, brands, software and content, together with the permitted use of third-party rights, sports data, footage, likenesses and other licensed assets.
  • Maintain oversight of Rezzil’s IP portfolio, including trademarks, patents and domain names, and coordinate registrations, renewals, enforcement and external specialist advice where required.
  • Advise on privacy and data protection, including UK GDPR, EU GDPR and relevant US and international requirements, data-processing arrangements, international transfers, product privacy and data incident response.
  • Support product teams with legal input on consumer terms, platform requirements, in-app purchases, marketing, promotions, AI-enabled features and the responsible use of data.
  • Support international expansion and cross-border contracting, working with local counsel on jurisdiction-specific requirements and new corporate entities where appropriate.
  • Advise on employment contracts, consultancy arrangements, policies, disputes and other employee-related legal matters in partnership with People and external advisers.
  • Advise the executive team and Board on corporate, governance and general legal matters, including company secretarial requirements and delegated authorities.
  • Support fundraising, investment, shareholder, equity and share-option matters, including legal due diligence and transaction coordination.
  • Partner with Finance on business risk and insurance, ensuring contractual liabilities are understood, proportionate and aligned with available cover.
  • Manage disputes, claims and sensitive legal issues, coordinating external counsel and protecting Rezzil’s commercial and reputational interests.
  • Own relationships with external legal advisers, managing scope, spend and service quality so specialist advice is used efficiently and proportionately.
  • Build scalable legal operations, including contract templates, playbooks, approval routes, signing authorities, record-keeping and a clear contract lifecycle process.
  • Monitor relevant legal and regulatory developments and provide clear, proportionate guidance to the business, including on anti-bribery, sanctions, competition and other applicable compliance matters.
  • Promote legal awareness across Rezzil through practical guidance and training for commercial, product and operational teams.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What we’re looking for

A qualified solicitor in England and Wales, or an equivalent common-law jurisdiction, with substantial post-qualification experience. Strong in-house experience in a scaling technology, software, media, gaming, sports or data-led business, or closely relevant private-practice experience combined with meaningful commercial exposure. Excellent commercial-contract drafting and negotiation skills, with the judgement to focus on the issues that matter and explain risk in plain language. Broad working knowledge of intellectual property, technology licensing, privacy, corporate and employment matters, with the ability to identify when specialist input is needed. Experience advising senior leaders and working directly with commercial, finance, product, engineering and people teams. Confidence operating independently, setting priorities and managing a varied workload in a fast-moving environment. A practical, solutions-focused approach, with the ability to protect the business without creating unnecessary friction. Strong organisation, attention to detail and ownership, including the discipline to build repeatable processes and maintain reliable legal records.

Nice to have

  • Experience with sports rights, sports data, broadcasting, sponsorship, games publishing, platform agreements or consumer digital products.
  • Experience supporting US operations, cross-border growth, fundraising, corporate transactions or share-option schemes.
  • Knowledge of AI, computer vision, open-source software, information security or emerging technology regulation.
  • Experience establishing or improving an in-house legal function, contract-management process or legal-operations toolkit.
  • Company secretarial or governance experience within a UK group structure.

Who this role would suit

This role would suit an experienced in-house lawyer who enjoys being close to the commercial and product decisions that shape a business. You will be comfortable moving between strategic deals and detailed execution, bringing structure to ambiguity and giving colleagues clear, usable advice. It is an opportunity to build Rezzil’s legal capability rather than simply maintain an established function.

What we offer

  • A senior, influential role within a growing sports technology business.
  • The opportunity to shape Rezzil’s legal function, operating model and approach to risk from the ground up.
  • Direct exposure to the executive team, Board and high-profile partners across sport, media and technology.
  • A competitive salary, company pension and benefits package.
  • Participation in Rezzil’s employee share option scheme, providing the opportunity to share in the future growth and success of the business.
  • 25 days annual leave, plus UK bank holidays and three company closure days over Christmas.
  • A collaborative, ambitious environment with hybrid working.
