About the Role
We are currently partnered with a high-growth business looking to hire their first Head of Legal for the global business. The organisation is a PE-backed leading SaaS business who have gone from strength to strength over the last few years. They have previously engaged lawyers on a deal-specific basis but this will be the first permanent hire and as a result, they're looking for someone who has strong technical experience and who can provide strategic advice.
Responsibilities
- Negotiating and drafting SaaS subscription agreements, MSAs, order forms, partner contracts, etc.
- Providing strategic advice to the organization
- Managing or supervising junior legal staff or paralegals

Requirements
- Qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with a minimum of 8-10 years' post-qualification experience, with meaningful in-house experience at a technology or SaaS business
- Demonstrable strength in commercial contracting - drafting, negotiating, and closing complex B2B agreements at pace
- Strong commercial judgement - able to assess legal risk proportionately and advise with clarity and decisiveness
- Proven ability to work in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment with limited resource and high expectations
- Familiarity with PE-backed governance and reporting expectations, including experience reporting directly to c-suite or board level preferred
- Familiarity with GDPR in a SaaS/data-processing context, including processor agreements and cross-border data transfer mechanisms

Additional Information
Candidates who are currently in Senior Legal Counsel (or equivalent) roles and looking for a step up to Head of Legal would be considered. This is a truly fantastic role and exciting team to join the business. Please reach out for further information.
