Head of Legal | High-Growth Technology Business | London

We are hiring a Head of Legal for a fast-growing, internationally expanding technology business (software & hardware) headquartered in London. This is a broad, hands-on leadership role with ownership of the day-to-day legal and compliance function.

You’ll manage a two-person legal team and report to the Group General Counsel, who will remain primarily focused on strategic corporate matters. You’ll also have a dotted-line relationship with the Chief of Staff and COO, working closely with them on the day-to-day legal and operational agenda.

The role will include owning commercial contracts and key negotiations end-to-end, leading on compliance and regulatory matters, and advising on employment, disputes, IP, M&A, and corporate governance matters. You’ll partner closely with ELT, Sales, Marketing, Product, and Regulatory Affairs, support international expansion and cross-border matters, and help build the legal function, including managing external counsel and the legal budget.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior legal counsel looking to step into a broader leadership role, take genuine ownership and make their mark within a fast-growing technology business. Our client is also open to candidates moving directly from private practice, provided they can demonstrate strong commercial instincts, adaptability, and a clear appetite to learn and develop in-house.

If this opportunity is of interest, we’d be grateful if you could apply directly via the LinkedIn advert rather than by email or LinkedIn message. This helps us give every application the same level of consideration and ensures a fair, consistent, and well-structured process for all candidates.
