Head of Legal

A private equity-backed technology and data business is seeking a Head of Legal to lead its legal function and partner closely with senior leadership during an exciting period of growth and innovation.

This is a high-profile role within a fast-paced, data-driven environment where legal plays a critical role in enabling commercial success. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will act as the senior legal adviser to the business and work closely with stakeholders across commercial, product, technology, data, people, and operations teams.

The role offers broad exposure across complex commercial contracts, data protection, regulatory matters, corporate projects, and legal operations, whilst providing the opportunity to shape the future direction of the legal function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the legal function and act as the primary legal adviser to the senior leadership team
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including SaaS, technology, licensing, data, and strategic partnership agreements
  • Advise on data protection, privacy, and emerging technology matters, including AI-related issues
  • Support product and technology teams on legal and regulatory considerations relating to new products and services
  • Act as the key legal contact for commercial negotiations with customers, suppliers, and strategic partners
  • Provide pragmatic advice on regulatory and compliance matters
  • Manage the current legal team
  • Support corporate projects, including acquisitions, integrations, and business restructuring initiatives
  • Oversee external legal advisers and drive efficiencies across legal spend and processes
  • Develop legal playbooks, policies, and training programs
  • Partner with HR on employment and people-related matters
  • Support and develop legal team capability

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
