Head of Licensing & Branded Buying | Large UK Retailer
£85,000 - £110,000 + Car Allowance, Bonus, Pension & Private Healthcare
This is a high-impact, revenue-owning leadership role, not a traditional buying position.
You'll take ownership of a major commercial pillar of the business, responsible for partnership and licensed collections delivering close to 50% of total revenue. This is about driving growth, building strategic partnerships, and owning the end-to-end commercial outcome.
We're looking for a commercially driven leader with proven experience across licensing, royalties, and wholesale. You know how to structure and negotiate deals that deliver, whilst protecting margin, driving uplifts, and building long-term, scalable partnerships.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

This role sits at the centre of everything:
- Defining and delivering partnership collections
- Leading commercial negotiations across licensing and wholesale
- Translating trend into cohesive, customer-relevant product
- Working collectively with buying, design, suppliers, wholesalers and marketing
- Shaping brand positioning, launches, and go-to-market messaging
- Influencing cross-functional teams across product, marketing, and external partners
