Lead London’s life sciences growth agenda

London is home to one of the world’s most dynamic life sciences ecosystems — bringing together world-leading research institutions, healthcare organisations, innovative companies, investors and entrepreneurs.

We are looking for an exceptional life sciences leader to help shape the next chapter of London’s growth story.

As Head of Life Sciences at London & Partners, you will lead the strategy that strengthens London’s position as a global hub for life sciences innovation, investment and collaboration. This is a senior, externally focused role for someone who can combine sector expertise with commercial insight — understanding how discoveries move from research and innovation into companies, investment, clinical adoption and global markets.

You will build relationships with some of the most influential organisations across the life sciences landscape, from global companies and investors to universities, NHS organisations, government bodies and international partners. Through these partnerships, you will help attract investment, unlock opportunities and support the continued growth of London’s life sciences ecosystem.

This is an opportunity to represent one of the world’s leading life sciences clusters, influence strategic priorities and deliver tangible economic impact for London.

Key Tasks

Strategy and sector leadership

  • Lead London & Partners’ Life Sciences sector team, ensuring strong collaboration across investment, trade, marketing, insights and partner engagement.
  • Develop and deliver the Life Sciences Cluster Development strategy, business plan, objectives and KPIs.
  • Monitor trends affecting life sciences infrastructure, investment and cluster development, using insight to identify opportunities and address barriers to growth.
  • Develop initiatives that strengthen London’s life sciences ecosystem, including research, laboratory, innovation and manufacturing capacity.
  • Build strategic relationships with global life sciences companies, investors, research institutions, healthcare organisations, developers, international cluster partners and government stakeholders.
  • Work closely with key partners including DBT, the Office for Investment, the Office for Life Sciences, the NHS and regional and national cluster organisations.
  • Create insights, thought leadership and propositions that support London’s position as a leading global life sciences hub.
  • Act as a recognised expert and spokesperson for London’s life sciences ecosystem.

Delivery and commercial impact

  • Lead the development, management and conversion of a strong pipeline of inward investment, capital investment and R&D collaboration opportunities.
  • Develop compelling sector messaging and value propositions that promote London’s life sciences strengths.
  • Create tools, resources and propositions that support inward investment, international growth and cluster development.
  • Lead strategic client projects involving life sciences companies, investors, developers and partners.
  • Collaborate with Opportunity London teams on life sciences capital investment opportunities and relationships with developer and investor communities.
  • Identify and develop appropriate commercial and revenue-generating opportunities for the sector.
  • Provide life sciences expertise across wider London & Partners programmes and initiatives.
  • Build international partnerships that attract investment, innovation and collaboration into London.
  • Represent London & Partners at senior industry events, international conferences, trade missions and stakeholder meetings.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
