What You’ll Be Doing
As Head of Liquidity, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the Group’s liquidity strategy, ensuring a robust and effective approach to liquidity risk management across the business. Leading all aspects of liquidity management, you will combine strategic oversight with hands-on leadership, driving continuous improvement, regulatory compliance, and funding optimization. Acting as the Group’s liquidity subject matter expert, you will have significant exposure to senior stakeholders and regulators while leading the delivery of key regulatory frameworks, including the ILAAP and Recovery Plan. You will also be instrumental in developing the Group’s funding strategy, supporting both retail and wholesale funding initiatives, and helping to drive the organization’s long-term growth ambitions.

- Lead the day-to-day management of the Group’s liquidity and funding risks, supporting the Treasurer in delivering strategic objectives.
- Oversee the production and analysis of daily, weekly, and monthly liquidity reporting and management information.
- Drive the development and implementation of liquidity risk management tools, frameworks, and reporting capabilities.
- Own the Group’s ILAAP and L-SREP processes, including liquidity and funding stress testing and regulatory engagement.
- Develop, maintain, and deliver the Group Funding Plan, ensuring alignment with business strategy, growth ambitions, and risk appetite.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with prudential regulatory requirements, including the ILAAP, Recovery Plan, and Resolution Pack.
- Support the definition and ongoing refinement of the Bank’s liquidity and funding risk appetite, policies, and governance framework.
- Manage the Group’s portfolio of liquid assets and investment strategy to optimize liquidity and funding outcomes.
- Contribute to treasury strategy, capital markets initiatives, committee governance, and key funding projects across the Group.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with regulators, senior stakeholders, and external partners while leading and developing a high-performing treasury team.
What We’re Looking For
- Significant experience in liquidity and funding management within a UK retail banking environment, operating at Senior Manager or Head of level.
- Deep expertise in liquidity risk management, funding strategies, stress testing, and balance sheet management.
- Proven experience leading and delivering ILAAPs, with strong knowledge of key regulatory metrics including LCR and NSFR.
- Strong understanding of the UK prudential regulatory framework and experience engaging directly with regulators.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across senior leadership teams and external partners.
- A collaborative and strategic leader who can balance long-term planning with operational delivery, manage complex projects, and develop high-performing teams.
