Head of Local Health Partners
Salary: £63,770 – £74,100 per annum + outcome-related bonus
Location: Hybrid, with regular travel across the East Midlands
Employer: Patient Care Locally CIC
Are you an experienced healthcare leader with the commercial drive, strategic thinking, and leadership skills to build a new organisation from the ground up?
Local Health Partners (LHP) is a new health and wellbeing business being established by Patient Care Locally CIC (PCL), and we are looking for an exceptional Head of Local Health Partners to lead its development.
This is not a role where you will simply inherit an established operation. You will have the opportunity to shape the organisation, develop its services, build its reputation, and create the partnerships needed to establish LHP as a trusted provider of accessible, high-quality self-pay health and wellbeing services across the East Midlands.
LHP has been created with a clear purpose. It will operate as a commercial, self-pay health and wellbeing provider, offering services directly to individuals and employers, while generating a sustainable income stream that can support the wider community mission of its parent organisation, PCL.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to combine commercial leadership with a strong sense of purpose.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the CEO of Patient Care Locally, you will have overall responsibility for establishing, leading, and managing the operational, commercial, and governance functions of LHP.
You will be accountable for developing and delivering the business strategy, identifying new markets and opportunities, establishing and scaling services, and building a financially sustainable organisation.
You will bring together strategy, business development, sales, marketing, governance, digital innovation, financial management, and operational delivery, ensuring that LHP grows while maintaining the highest standards of quality, compliance, and customer experience.
Your Responsibilities
- Developing and delivering LHP's strategic and business plans.
- Identifying new markets, services, partnerships, and commercial opportunities.
- Building and delivering a sales and business development strategy.
- Developing strong relationships with referrers, insurers, employers, partners, and other key stakeholders.
- Establishing and scaling new health and wellbeing services.
- Developing LHP's brand, reputation, marketing, and digital presence.
- Leading contract negotiations and managing commercial relationships, SLAs, and KPIs.
- Ensuring robust clinical governance, regulatory compliance, risk management, and quality assurance.
- Leading the implementation of digital systems, including CRM, EPR, and performance reporting tools.
- Developing meaningful clinical, operational, and financial performance reporting.
- Using data and insight to drive decision-making, growth, and continuous improvement.
- Developing budgets, forecasts, and business cases and maintaining financial sustainability.
- Leading, motivating, and developing a multidisciplinary and multi-provider workforce.
- Working collaboratively with PCL, clinical leaders, providers, and external stakeholders to deliver the organisation's objectives.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About Local Health Partners
LHP has been established to create a different type of health and wellbeing organisation: a commercially focused self-pay provider with a clear social purpose.
It is 100% owned by Patient Care Locally CIC, but operates as a distinct commercial organisation with its own purpose, funding model, and accountability.
The model is simple but ambitious: build a successful commercial business that can grow sustainably while contributing to the wider community mission of PCL.
For the right person, this is a rare opportunity to take a business from concept to operation, from operation to growth, and ultimately from growth to scale.
About Patient Care Locally
Patient Care Locally is a community interest company established in 2011 by local GPs. PCL is committed to providing greater access to clinically appropriate, high-quality, and accessible patient care within the community.
As a CIC, PCL reinvests its surpluses into the community and is committed to working with local organisations wherever possible.
Our values are centred around Our Patients, Our Team, and Our Company. We believe in putting patients first, respecting and empowering our people, and being a trusted, caring, innovative, and adaptable organisation that delivers.
