About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity, for a true industry professional, to take a leadership role in a highly successful, 3rd party logistics organisation. The Head of Logistics is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations, ensuring efficient inventory management, distribution, safety compliance, and team leadership. The Head of Logistics will drive operational excellence, cost control, productivity, and customer satisfaction, while maintaining a safe and organised work environment.

The company itself provides integrated logistics and supply chain solutions. It is an end-to-end logistics business delivering an industry-leading service to some of the UK’s best-known retail, hospitality, and banking brands.

  • Bringing a high level of energy, initiative, and enthusiasm to the business
  • Overseeing daily warehouse operations including receiving, storing, picking / packing, QA, and shipping
  • Ensuring on-time and accurate order fulfillment
  • Optimising warehouse layout and workflows to ensure maximum efficiency
  • Implementing and monitoring KPIs (productivity, accuracy, turnaround times, etc.)
  • Developing, training, and enforcing standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Collaborating with the senior management team in the development and delivery of key operational strategies
  • Utilising data and software to drive decisions and change business processes to the benefit of the site
  • Maintaining accurate inventory records and conducting regular cycle counts
  • Minimising shrinkage, damage, and obsolescence
  • Hiring, training, supervising, evaluating, and building warehouse colleagues and managers
  • Promoting a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
  • Conducting performance reviews and providing coaching
  • Scheduling labor effectively to meet business demands
  • Ensuring Health & Safety compliance and other regulatory requirements
  • Managing warehouse and transport operating budgets
  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities
  • Reporting operational performance to senior leadership
