Head of Logistics

Getting our products to customers reliably, quickly and cost-effectively is fundamental to Huel’s reputation and growth. As we continue to scale rapidly across our DTC, Retail & Amazon channels in the UK, EU and US, we need our logistics and freight operations to keep up with the pace - running smoothly day to day while evolving to support the next phase of the business in the most efficient way. That’s where our new Head of Logistics comes in to lead this critical function.

The logistics team is based within our wider Operations function. No day is ever the same, but here’s an insight into what you can expect:

  • Hold overall accountability for our outbound logistics and warehousing operations across the UK and US, ensuring reliable, cost-effective fulfilment that protects customer availability and service levels across all sales channels.
  • Own our inbound freight operation - the movement of raw materials and finished goods around the world, the majority of which is container shipment - working closely with Sourcing and Product Supply to keep the supply chain flowing.
  • Manage our 3PL and freight partners to continually improve service, quality and cost, setting clear performance expectations and KPIs, holding partners to account and building strong operational relationships.
  • Develop the automation and network strategy for our next phase of growth with our 3PL logistics partners in the UK and US, including CAPEX cases and payback analysis, and lead delivery of agreed initiatives.
  • Continuously identify and deliver cost, efficiency and service improvements across the network - from carrier and route optimisation to warehouse operations and freight consolidation - ensuring Huel is always getting a great deal.
  • Ensure full compliance with customs, import/export and trade requirements across our UK, EU and US operations, managing risk through robust systems and processes.
  • Lead our Customer Supply teams across the UK and US, with overall accountability for order management and fulfilment to our retail and marketplace customers, and operational relationships with key customers’ supply chain teams.
  • Own logistics and customer service KPIs across all channels, working with Commercial, Product Supply and Finance to resolve issues quickly and ensure financial forecasts accurately reflect logistics requirements.
  • Lead logistics capacity planning as part of our S&OP process, ensuring our logistics footprint and partner capacity can keep pace with Huel’s growth, new markets and channel expansion, with logistics requirements built into expansion initiatives from the outset.
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of c.12 across the UK and US, providing clear direction, structure and inspiration while empowering autonomy across the team.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What we're looking for in you

This role will best suit someone with 10+ years of experience in logistics, distribution and freight within the FMCG sector or a comparable fast-moving, physical-goods environment. You should also have:

  • Deep operational knowledge of order picking, warehousing, transport, outbound distribution and international freight (including container shipping, customs and import/export), across DTC, Retail & Amazon fulfilment.
  • Proven experience managing 3PL and freight partners - selecting them, setting them up, holding them to account on service, cost and quality, and building strong long-term relationships.
  • Robust numerical and financial modelling skills, with the ability to build CAPEX and payback cases for significant investment and present data-driven recommendations simply to senior stakeholders and at board level.
  • Experience leading customer supply, order management or customer service teams in FMCG, with a track record of delivering service levels such as OTIF with major retailers and marketplaces.
  • A strategic thinker as well as a strong operator - able to run a reliable operation today while shaping how the network scales and automates for the future.
  • Deep experience of line management, leadership, coaching and development for a team of varying skill sets across multiple geographies.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to tie together the activities of diverse teams within your remit and partner effectively across the wider Operations function, Sourcing, Product Supply and Commercial.

And as always, we’re on the lookout for new Hueligans who love a fast-paced environment and are always striving to be their best. We want people who aren’t afraid to think differently and push boundaries.
