Job Description
As Head of Logistics at Heathrow, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our supply chain operations. This is a senior leadership position that ensures the seamless movement of goods and materials critical to the airport’s success. You will lead a high-performing team, drive innovation, and deliver operational excellence that supports Heathrow’s strategic objectives.
In this role, you will influence key decisions, optimise processes, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Your leadership will directly impact efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness across the logistics function, enabling Heathrow to deliver world-class service to millions of passengers and partners.
Your role will involve:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive logistics strategy aligned with Heathrow’s long-term business goals.
- Lead and inspire a team of logistics professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee end-to-end supply chain operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.
- Implement innovative solutions to enhance efficiency, sustainability, and resilience within the logistics network.
- Manage relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders, ensuring compliance with contractual, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor performance metrics and drive initiatives to achieve operational excellence and financial targets.

These Skills Are Essential
- Proven experience in senior logistics or supply chain leadership roles within a complex, high-volume environment.
- Strong strategic thinking and ability to translate vision into actionable plans.
- Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
- Deep understanding of regulatory and safety standards in logistics operations.
- Track record of delivering operational improvements and cost efficiencies.
- Exceptional leadership and team development capabilities.
Ideally, you will also have
- Experience in aviation or large-scale transport sectors.
- Knowledge of sustainability practices and digital transformation in logistics.
- Professional qualifications in supply chain or logistics management.

Working Location
Our Hybrid working approach offers the opportunity for colleagues in some roles to work from home for an average of two days a week, providing the flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring we deliver for the operational needs of Heathrow. Working arrangements vary from team to team and will be confirmed during the recruitment process. You’ll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.
