Senior Logistics Manager 12 Month FTC
Logistics Transformation, Systems Improvement & People Development
Company Overview
We are pleased to be working with one of the UK's largest providers of temporary accommodation, transport, property maintenance, safeguarding, and resident support services on behalf of central government. Operating across London, the South of England, and Wales, it manages a complex accommodation and logistics network, delivering essential services within a highly regulated environment.
Role Purpose
To lead the transformation of the logistics function by implementing efficient systems, standardised processes, and strong performance management frameworks. The role will focus on improving operational efficiency, developing leadership capability, and creating a scalable, high-performing logistics operation that supports business growth and contractual delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Transformation
- Review and redesign logistics processes and operating procedures.
- Implement scalable systems, controls, and governance frameworks, in line with industry and market standards.
- Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
- Operate to support current contractual KPIs and to ensure compliance with these and supply chain governance standards set by the customer.

Logistics Management
- Oversee all logistics activities including:
- Property mobilisation and decommissioning
- Furniture and equipment deployment
- Stock management
- Supplier coordination and compliant onboarding
- Operational support service
- Ensure service levels are achieved consistently
- Monitor performance against operational and contractual targets
- Lead responses to urgent operational demands and changing business requirements
- Ensure effective utilisation of resources across multiple locations.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Implement technology solutions to improve visibility, planning, scheduling, and reporting.
- Develop dashboards and management information to support decision-making.
- Standardise processes across all regions.
People Development
- Coach, mentor, and develop managers and teams.
- Build leadership capability and succession plans.
- Improve accountability, engagement, and performance.
- Create a culture focused on continuous improvement and customer service excellence.
Financial & Compliance Management
- Manage logistics budgets and identify efficiency savings.
- Monitor supplier performance and commercial value.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, safeguarding, and contractual requirements.
Essential Experience
- Senior logistics management experience within a multi-site operation.
- Proven track record of operational transformation and change management.
- Experience implementing systems, processes, and performance frameworks.
- Strong people leadership and development experience.
- Budget and supplier management expertise.
- Experience within a regulated environment.
