About the Role
Over the past 30 years, we’ve grown from humble beginnings with a single computer into a diversified, global, technology-enabled lottery and prize draw company (ASX: JIN). Today, Jumbo operates across Australia, the UK, Canada and the US, bringing together technology, creativity and purpose to create premium digital experiences people love.
Based in Galgate, StarVale is dedicated to strengthening the fundraising power of charities, not‑for‑profits, and hospices across the UK. We combine specialist lottery management with a genuine commitment to helping organisations maximise their impact, so more communities receive the support they deserve.
What You Will Be Doing
This is a newly created leadership role designed to drive operational excellence, embed continuous improvement and support the future growth and scalability of our lottery operations. You will be part of the senior leadership team at StarVale with responsibility for the performance, compliance and continuous improvement of our lottery, raffle and supporter engagement operations.
Whilst ensuring our services continue to run accurately, compliantly and on schedule, you will also lead operational change. You will review how work is delivered, redesign processes, implement automation and technology solutions, and create a scalable operating model that supports future growth.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded operational leader who enjoys driving change, improving efficiency and developing high-performing teams in a regulated environment.
What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like
- Leading the end-to-end delivery of lottery and raffle operations, ensuring service levels, deadlines and quality standards are consistently achieved.
- Managing and developing operational lottery leadership teams, empowering clear accountability and strong performance across the department.
- Reviewing operational structures, processes and workflows to improve efficiency, scalability and resilience.
- Leading organisational change initiatives, including process improvement, supporting teams through change and embedding new ways of working.
- Identifying and delivering automation opportunities that reduce manual effort, improve accuracy and increase operational capacity.
- Working closely with IT and development teams to define requirements and support the delivery of technology improvements.
- Using operational data and KPIs to monitor performance, identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
- Managing operational budgets, resources and supplier relationships.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory, legal and internal control requirements.
- Acting as a senior escalation point for operational issues, client concerns and service delivery challenges.
- Building strong relationships across the business and contributing to wider strategic planning and decision-making.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
