FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies is seeking a Head of Maintenance and Reliability

FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies is seeking a Head of Maintenance and Reliability to lead the site-wide maintenance, calibration, utilities, and asset reliability strategy at our Billingham campus. You will build and lead high-performing teams, ensure GMP-compliant asset performance, and drive reliability excellence that safeguards product supply, quality, and safety.

What you’ll do

  • Ensure equipment, utilities, and facilities are maintained, calibrated, and available to meet production and process development schedules—supporting on-time batch starts and audit readiness.
  • Lead the site’s maintenance and reliability strategy and roadmap, including routine optimization, shutdown/turnaround planning, new asset introduction, and aging asset management.
  • Establish and track KPIs to continuously improve uptime, cost, quality, safety, and compliance across maintenance and calibration programs.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with manufacturing operations, engineering, QA/Validation, EHS, Facilities/Utilities, Supply Chain, IT/OT/Automation, and external partners/OEMs.
  • Own maintenance standards, procedures, CMMS governance, calibration programs, and engineering stores/spare parts strategy.
  • Lead safe systems of work and Permit-to-Work processes; ensure technical capability for statutory compliance in pressure systems, electrical, lifting equipment, and safe management of engineering work.
  • Build and mentor a multi-disciplinary team (maintenance, reliability, utilities, calibration/metrology, planners); drive root cause analysis and reliability improvements.
  • Manage third-party service providers and contractors; set quality expectations and handover standards for installations and projects.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
