Head of Management Accounting
We are searching for a very strong Head of Management Accounting for this multi-Billion turnover construction and manufacturing business, based in Central London. The role will be two steps away from the Group CFO. The role will pay £100,000-120,000 + Bonus + Bens and report into the Director of Group Financial Control. The company has gone through a merger so it’s essential individuals are happy with change,
Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include:
- Leading the Management Accounting team in the head quarters as well as supervising the off-site finance teams across 200 legal entities in EMEA with a particular focus on cost accounting midst others
- Development and implementation of harmonised Group-wide Management Accounting and Cost Accounting guidelines, processes and reporting
- Ensuring the business receives adequate financial information to support the identification of appropriate measures to drive continuous improvement in business performance
- Production of an adequate monthly reporting with the necessary standardised and harmonised variance analysis and commentary to support Executive Management with the interpretation of results
- Annual budget process and mid-term plan as well as monthly and quarterly forecasts
- Developing a group management accounting manual with consistent cost definitions, profit and cost centre definitions, cost accounting methods and processes
- Partnering with Group IT and the Process Management Organisation to ensure that the new global ERP template adequately supports the necessary harmonised definitions, methods, processes, standardised reports and ad-hoc analysis capabilities.
- Developing and embedding new reporting processes in the organisation, together with the Business Intelligence team within IT
- Analysing cash flow performance including working capital efficiency and non-recurring items
- Assists HR in the preparation of appropriate annual financial targets for the business and ensures transparent and fair measurement against goals
- Ensuring an efficient and effective group-wide capex reporting, controlling and budgeting process
- Supporting the COO with the definition and reporting of adequate Operational KPI’s

The ideal candidate will be ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualified from a larger matrix style business that has gone through a period of change. They must have a strong management accounting background with excellent budgeting, forecasting and analysis skills. They must be use to presenting complex information in a clear and succinct manner. Excel skills must be strong.
