Our Rogerstone Meals site is one of the largest prepared meals operations in the UK, employing approximately 2,500 colleagues and producing around 1.6 million meals every week. The Opportunity
We are seeking an exceptional Head of Manufacturing to join the Site Leadership Team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future performance of one of our flagship manufacturing operations. This is a high-profile leadership position with full accountability for manufacturing operations across a large-scale, complex food production environment. Reporting into the Site Director, you will lead through a team of Manufacturing Managers, Shift Managers and Operational Leaders, driving operational excellence, cultural transformation and sustainable business performance. You will be responsible for creating a high-performance culture that delivers outstanding results across safety, quality, people, cost and customer service whilst ensuring the operation is equipped to meet future growth ambitions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for all manufacturing operations across the site.
- Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement, lean manufacturing and best practice deployment.
- Deliver world-class performance across Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People metrics.
- Lead and develop a large, multi-layered workforce across multiple production areas and shifts.
- Champion a culture of accountability, engagement and high performance at every level.
- Own manufacturing budgets, labour management and cost optimisation initiatives.
- Identify and implement productivity, efficiency and waste reduction opportunities.
- Play a key role in site transformation, capital investment projects and continuous improvement programmes.
- Partner closely with Technical, Engineering, Supply Chain, HR and Commercial teams to ensure seamless execution of business objectives.
- Ensure manufacturing operations consistently meet customer, regulatory and food safety standards.
- Support innovation, new product introductions and capacity growth initiatives.

About You
You are a proven manufacturing leader with a track record of delivering exceptional results within large-scale food manufacturing environments. You'll bring:
- Significant senior leadership experience within food manufacturing, FMCG or high-volume production environments.
- Demonstrable success leading large operational teams within complex manufacturing operations.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing substantial labour and operational budgets.
- A track record of improving productivity, efficiency, customer service and operational performance.
- Experience driving cultural change and developing high-performing teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Strong knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies, lean manufacturing principles and operational excellence frameworks.
- A visible, hands-on leadership style with a passion for developing people and creating winning teams.
