Head of Manufacturing
Significant leadership experience within chilled ready meals or chilled prepared food manufacturing is essential.

Our meals are hand prepared and finished by our team of highly skilled chefs, combining the standards and care of a professional kitchen with the discipline, consistency and scale of a best in class chilled food manufacturing operation. As we continue to grow, our focus is on scaling our manufacturing operation whilst maintaining the incredible quality, care and attention to detail that defines FuelHub and our food. We serve customers across the UK through our growing D2C and B2B channels, alongside a partnership network spanning more than 50 elite sports teams, organisations and athletes, including Matchroom Boxing and Manchester City in the Community. And we’re only getting started. As FuelHub enters its next stage of growth, we’re looking for an exceptional Head of Manufacturing to join our Senior Leadership Team and play a key role in building the operation behind our future growth.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a highly experienced Head of Manufacturing to take end to end ownership of our manufacturing operation. Significant leadership experience within chilled ready meals or chilled prepared food manufacturing is essential. This is a senior, hands on leadership position for someone who knows how to run a high performing chilled food manufacturing operation from start to finish. You’ll lead across people, production, planning, performance, efficiency, quality and continuous improvement, with full P&L accountability for the manufacturing operation. We need someone who can lead an exceptional operation today whilst building the capability, structure and team FuelHub will need as we continue to scale. The Role
You’ll lead the manufacturing site from production planning and preparation through cooking, assembly and packing, ensuring every meal consistently meets the premium quality and standards expected of the FuelHub brand. You’ll create clear structure, strong leadership, high standards and genuine accountability throughout the operation. This is a highly visible role. We want someone who knows their operation, knows their people and understands exactly what is happening on the factory floor. You’ll be equally comfortable contributing at Senior Leadership Team level as you are working alongside your teams, getting into the detail and solving problems.

What You’ll Own
- End to end manufacturing performance
- Full P&L accountability for the manufacturing operation
- Production planning, scheduling and execution
- Capacity planning and forecasting
- Labour planning and productivity
- Production output and line performance
- Factory flow and operational efficiency
- Yield, waste and raw material utilisation
- Short shelf life and multi SKU manufacturing
- Manufacturing KPIs and performance management
- Continuous improvement and standardisation of manufacturing processes
- Manufacturing team structure, recruitment and succession planning
- Development of Production Managers, Supervisors and wider production teams
- Building a high performance manufacturing culture
- Maintaining our exceptional food quality and premium standards as volumes increase
- Developing the manufacturing operation to support the continued growth of FuelHub
You’ll work closely with Technical to ensure food safety, quality and compliance remain uncompromising. You’ll also work closely with our chefs, Product, Finance and the wider leadership team to ensure manufacturing remains aligned with the standards, performance and ambitions of the wider business.
Who We’re Looking For
Chilled ready meal or chilled prepared food manufacturing experience is essential. This is not a general manufacturing position. We’re looking for someone who already understands the complexity, pace and discipline required to produce premium chilled prepared meals at volume, including:
- High volume chilled ready meal manufacturing
- Short shelf life and multiple SKU production
- Raw and cooked processes
- Complex production planning
- Labour intensive manufacturing
- Changing customer demand
- Yield, waste and raw material utilisation
- Assembly and packing
- Food safety, quality and shelf life management
- Maintaining exceptional quality and consistency at scale
You’ll Bring
- Significant senior manufacturing leadership experience within chilled ready meals or chilled prepared food
- Experience leading an end to end manufacturing operation
- Proven experience of full manufacturing P&L ownership and accountability
- A track record of improving manufacturing performance
- Strong production planning and capacity management experience
- Experience leading and developing large manufacturing teams
- Strong understanding of manufacturing KPIs and performance management
- Experience developing Production Managers, Supervisors and future leaders
- A strong continuous improvement mindset
- Strong commercial and financial acumen
- A genuine passion for great food and exceptional product quality
- The ability to operate confidently as part of a Senior Leadership Team whilst remaining genuinely hands on

The Person
We’re looking for a strong, visible and highly capable manufacturing leader with presence, energy and high standards. You’ll know how to build great teams, develop people and create a culture of performance and accountability. You’ll be calm under pressure, decisive and comfortable taking ownership. You’ll be data led, commercially aware and people focused, with the confidence to challenge, make decisions and continually raise standards. You’ll have a clear track record of career progression and increasing responsibility across people, performance and manufacturing operations. This is a Head of Manufacturing role today, and we’re looking for someone with the capability, ambition and leadership potential to progress significantly as FuelHub continues to scale.
