Head of Manufacturing

Lead a manufacturing operation that's entering its next phase of growth.

We're supporting the confidential appointment of a Head of Manufacturing for a well-established engineering manufacturer supplying complex, high-value products into demanding global markets.

As part of the Senior Leadership Team, you'll take responsibility for Production, Planning, Purchasing, Production Engineering and Continuous Improvement, leading a large operational team and playing a key role in delivering the site's next stage of development.

The business is investing heavily in its facilities, systems and people. As part of that investment, they're looking for an operational leader who enjoys building capability, improving performance and creating an environment where people take ownership and deliver consistently.

The Role

The fundamentals are in place. Your role will be to build on them.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Leading production and manufacturing operations.
  • Developing and coaching operational leaders.
  • Driving performance across safety, quality, delivery and productivity.
  • Embedding a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Improving planning, manufacturing flow and operational efficiency.
  • Working closely with Engineering, Quality, Commercial and Supply Chain to deliver for customers.
  • Supporting the transition into a significant new manufacturing facility over the coming years.
  • Contributing as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, helping shape operational strategy across the site.

The Experience

You'll already be operating in a senior manufacturing leadership role within a complex engineering environment.

You'll understand what it takes to balance customer delivery, operational performance and people leadership.

Experience should include:

  • Leading multi-disciplinary manufacturing teams.
  • Production, planning and operational management.
  • Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  • MRP/ERP systems and production planning.
  • Developing managers and building high-performing teams.
  • Managing change within an engineering manufacturing environment.
  • Working collaboratively across Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain and Commercial functions.
