Walker Cole International - Head of Manufacturing Science & Technology (Head MSAT)

Walker Cole International is exclusively supporting a fast-growing global pharmaceutical business in the search for a Head of Manufacturing Science & Technology (Head MSAT). This is an excellent opportunity to join the business during a period of significant growth and transformation, taking ownership of technical and scientific oversight across a complex biologics-focused manufacturing network.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities as the Head MSAT will include:

  • Providing technical and scientific oversight across a complex biologics manufacturing portfolio, ensuring robust processes and strong product quality throughout the lifecycle.
  • Leading end-to-end change control and technical change management, working cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and external manufacturing partners.
  • Supporting successful new product launches and technology transfer activity, including scale-up of new biologics products to commercial manufacture.
  • Driving global standardisation of MS&T processes and best practice, ensuring rapid re-application of quality, compliance and efficiency improvements across the network.
  • Partnering with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality and Product Development to secure continuity of supply, deliver COGS improvement initiatives and support Capex projects requiring technical input.
  • Designing and delivering technical training to build capability and share scientific knowledge across the organisation.

Requirements

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • Significant experience in biologics manufacturing, including drug substance manufacture, process validation and optimisation.
  • A strong track record building and deploying MS&T strategies and systems across global or multi-site teams.
  • Experience leading technology transfer and scale-up activity within a regulated biologics manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to drive quality and compliance performance across a complex, matrixed organisation.
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills, with experience leading change across international, cross-functional teams.
