Head Of Marketing

About Sportgate International

Sportgate International is an award-winning sports events and rights management company delivering premium live sporting experiences worldwide. Its portfolio includes flagship events such as Chesterton’s Polo in the Park in London, alongside other international sports and lifestyle experiences.

Delivered on greenfield sites, these events involve creating fully operational temporary event sites, hosting thousands of spectators, elite international players, global brands, VIPs, within tightly controlled licensing and safety frameworks. Sportgate is a small, highly driven team working closely with specialist consultants, suppliers, and contractors, offering hands-on responsibility, close collaboration with senior stakeholders, and the chance to contribute directly to the delivery of world-class sporting events.

Role Overview

Polo in the Park London is entering its next phase of growth, and this role exists to lead it there. The previous Head of Marketing gave the event stability and consistency; the priority now is to build on that foundation and break new ground, driving fresh awareness across sponsorship, hospitality, and ticket sales to generate new business, not simply maintain what already exists. Alongside this, the Head of Marketing will take a fresh look at how Sportgate International itself is perceived, shaping a brand and positioning that reflects its status as one of the leading event operators in the equestrian and luxury events market.

The role suits an ambitious, commercially minded marketing leader who is comfortable challenging an established approach, building new-business pipeline through marketing rather than relying on existing reputation, and elevating a company brand as well as an event brand.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Growth & New Business Marketing

  • Develop and lead a marketing strategy focused on building new-business pipeline across sponsorship, hospitality, and ticketing, evolving beyond maintaining existing awareness.
  • Drive top-of-funnel campaigns that reach new sponsor prospects, corporate hospitality buyers, and ticket-buying audiences who aren't yet engaged with the event.
  • Set and track marketing-sourced pipeline and revenue contribution targets in partnership with the General Manager and commercial team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
