Head of Marketing

London | Hybrid - 1 day per week in the office
Up to £105,000 + benefits + shares

Scale a digital-first consumer business through its next phase of growth.

This is an opportunity for a commercially minded marketing leader to join a rapidly growing UK consumer business at a pivotal stage of its growth journey.

The business is already generating £10m+ in revenue, has around 60,000 paying weekly subscribers and has plans to reach £20m+ and beyond. The next stage requires someone who has already lived through a significant scaling journey and knows what it takes to build a marketing engine while a consumer business is growing rapidly.

This isn't a role for someone looking to make their first move into a scale-up.

The Role

  • Lead the marketing strategy as the business scales from £10m towards £20m+
  • Build and continually optimise the marketing engine across acquisition, conversion, and retention
  • Own a significant UK-focused marketing budget and ensure investment continues to deliver commercially
  • Drive subscriber and customer growth across paid and organic channels
  • Lead performance marketing across channels including Meta and Google
  • Own the relationship between customer acquisition, CAC, LTV, payback, and retention
  • Develop CRM and lifecycle activity to improve customer value and reduce churn
  • Work closely with CRO, analytics, creative, and digital teams to continually improve the customer journey
  • Develop the brand as the business reaches a stage where performance marketing alone cannot deliver the next phase of growth
  • Navigate the transition from performance-led growth towards a broader brand strategy while maintaining commercial discipline
  • Explore and scale channels including TV, OOH, influencers, and partnerships
  • Build, lead, and develop the marketing team
  • Work closely with the founders, Product, Tech, and Design teams to identify and execute growth opportunities
  • Establish the marketing infrastructure, processes, and team required for the next stage of scale

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Person

The strongest candidates will have a track record of personally scaling a UK consumer business, rather than simply managing an established marketing function.

They are likely to have:

  • A reasonable tenure within a UK-based, digital-first consumer business that has experienced significant growth
  • Experience operating while the business was growing at approximately 50-100% year on year
  • Personally built or significantly developed a full-stack consumer growth engine
  • Managed a substantial UK-focused marketing budget
  • Deep experience across performance marketing, particularly Meta and Google
  • Strong understanding of CAC, LTV, payback, retention, and cohort performance
  • Hands-on experience across CRM, lifecycle, CRO, analytics, and customer acquisition
  • Experience scaling a subscription or repeat-purchase consumer proposition
  • Successfully navigated the point where performance channels began to saturate
  • Helped transition a business from predominantly performance-led marketing towards greater brand investment without losing commercial discipline
  • Experience working in a founder-led, digital-first, or high-growth consumer business
  • The ability to operate hands-on while also building and leading a team
  • Strong commercial judgement and the ability to connect marketing activity directly to revenue and customer growth

The Key Question

Have they actually been through the scaling journey themselves?

The business isn't looking for someone who has spent their career in established corporate marketing environments and now wants to move into a scale-up.

It needs someone who has already operated in the environment - someone who has built, tested, scaled, and adapted a consumer growth engine while the business was growing rapidly.

What Makes This Opportunity Different?

The business already has significant traction, a substantial subscriber base, and a proven consumer proposition.

The next challenge is much bigger: how do you take that existing momentum and build a £20m+ consumer business without simply throwing more money at performance channels?

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape that journey from the inside, working directly with the founders and having genuine ownership of the marketing strategy, budget, team, and commercial outcome.

There is also equity/share participation as part of the overall package, giving the successful candidate the opportunity to share in the value they help create.
