Direct report: Marketing Manager
THE ROLE
At Taste Film, we believe films should be more than just watched. They should be lived, shared, and tasted. We take our Tasters on a journey where fine food and iconic film moments collide, transforming a night out into an unforgettable adventure.
Taste Film is entering an exciting period of growth, expanding into new UK cities and launching internationally through licensed territories. To power that growth, we are creating a new senior role: Head of Marketing.
You will own the entire marketing function (strategy, team, budget and results) and be responsible for ensuring our marketing strategy delivers against our brand, audience and commercial objectives. You will lead and develop our Marketing Manager, manage our paid media agency, raise the quality and creativity of our output, and build the brand into a household name in immersive cinematic dining.
A key part of this role will be bringing a more data driven, commercially focused and technologically progressive approach to marketing. You will use insight and performance data to drive decision making, while championing the intelligent use of AI and automation to improve efficiency, strengthen our marketing capabilities and help the team work smarter.
This is an active leadership role, not a pure management position. Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, you will set the direction, but you will also stay close to the work: setting clear campaign strategies, challenging and strengthening campaign ideas, raising the standard of creative briefs and output, coaching the team to produce their best work, spotting opportunities others miss, and making sure every pound of marketing spend works hard.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing Strategy & Campaigns
- Develop and own the marketing strategy, translating company objectives and the film slate into clear direction for the Marketing Manager’s plans and campaigns.
- Set the standards for campaigns, raising the quality of Taste Film's creative output and helping the Marketing Manager and Social Content Creator produce their best work.
- Review campaign performance with the Marketing Manager, identifying learnings and adapting the strategy where needed.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Performance Marketing & Commercial Growth
- Own the link between marketing and sales: build a performance marketing engine where every campaign, channel and piece of spend is measured against ticket sales and revenue.
- Own and manage the marketing budget while hitting agreed sales targets.
- Set marketing KPIs and reporting, using performance data and customer insight to guide decisions, optimise investment and continually improve results.
- Work closely with the Commercial Director to ensure marketing strategy and investment respond to screening schedules, venue capacity and yield across all cities.
- Champion an AI enabled approach to marketing, using AI and automation to improve the speed, efficiency and effectiveness of research, campaign development, analysis, reporting and optimisation.
Team & Agency Leadership
- Lead and develop the Marketing Manager, setting clear objectives, priorities and standards, and support them in managing and developing the Social Content Creator.
- Coach the team, identify skill gaps, and bring in freelance or agency support where needed to fill them.
- Build a culture of creative ambition and commercial accountability within the marketing team.
Influencer & Affiliate Marketing
- Oversee a strong, always on influencer programme, setting the strategy and objectives and guiding the Marketing Manager on creator selection and partnerships that genuinely move ticket sales, not just impressions.
- Oversee an affiliate marketing programme by setting the strategy, commercial model and performance targets, creating a scalable, measurable acquisition channel.
CRM & Dotdigital
- Oversee the Marketing Manager's use of Dotdigital as the engine of our CRM, setting the strategy and objectives for the automation programmes, journey flows and campaign emails she runs for every film release.
- Guide the Marketing Manager in developing our existing segmentation programme further, to grow repeat visits and cross-sell across titles and cities.
- Set the targets for email and CRM as a measurable revenue channel, reviewing performance with the Marketing Manager through clear reporting on open, click and conversion rates.
PR Strategy
- Guide the Marketing Manager on PR priorities and key media relationships, as they build relationships with journalists, bloggers and media outlets nationally and in each launch city.
- Act as the senior point of contact for PR issues, protecting and enhancing the brand's reputation.
