Our client is a fast-growing business in the north west.

They are now looking for a Head of Brand & Marketing to join their successful team.

Key Objectives & Job Scope

Leading a team across NPD, Brand, Marketing and Social, you will be responsible for category and product management through to social media, digital campaigns and creative direction, globally. You will develop strategic plans to help establish brands as the ‘go to’ choice within category, allocating resources to different projects and setting short-term and long-term department goals. You will inspire your team members and promote a higher profitability and competitiveness in everything your team does.

Working alongside the CEO on the above, you will also work closely with wider teams such as Sales, Operations and Design team (often leading creative direction), to ensure cross-functional alignment.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

  • Crafting strategies for Category, Brand and Marketing
  • Preparing and managing monthly, quarterly and annual budgets for the department
  • Setting, monitoring and reporting on team goals
  • Design branding, positioning and pricing strategies
  • Defend the integrity of the brand and its proposition ensuring that the brand values, proposition and differentiating factors are protected and optimised through product development, content development and activation
  • Ensure brand message is strong and consistent across all channels and marketing efforts
  • Analyse consumer behaviour and determine customer personas
  • Identify opportunities to reach new market segments and expand market share
  • Monitor competition (acquisitions, pricing changes and new products and features)
  • Coordinate sales and marketing efforts to boost brand awareness
  • Participate in the annual planning of company objectives
  • Lead the development of new NPD line extensions (and potentially brands), with recommendations around retail price point and competitive position, in line with company growth expectations, seeking innovative and ownable product characteristics that enhance the brand proposition. Collaborating with Technical and leading NPD to ensure that this is maintained through the development process
  • Lead the development of brand assets including brand & copy bible, drive excellence through campaign photography and outline marketing concepts and content that underpin the brand proposition – creatively lead and direct shoots
  • Lead the appropriate activation of the brand/category vision and plans in primary markets
  • Lead the development of campaign content to achieve brand objectives and sales plans
  • Lead the approach in the go-to-market activation of the campaign content
  • Ensure 3rd party suppliers are carefully selected and commercial agreements are optimised
  • Lead E-commerce and mentor the E-commerce Manager to drive the success of D2C channels and nurture/optimise key e-tailer opportunities

  • Business, Brand or Marketing related degree or similar qualification
  • 10+ years experience of delivering successful marketing campaigns and leading teams from within the
  • Strategic mind, creative heart
  • Demonstrable leadership skills with a drive for results
  • Demonstrable project management skills – multi-brand experience is a must
