Head of Marketing

The Head of Marketing is responsible for developing and delivering the Company’s UK marketing strategy for its commercial vehicle products & services. The role will lead brand development, digital footprint, product launches and marketing campaigns to support sales success, and firmly establish the Chery Commercial Vehicle UK’s presence in the UK market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the UK marketing strategy in line with the Company’s business plan, product roadmap and sales targets.
  • Prepare and manage annual marketing plans, budgets and campaign calendars.
  • Build the Company’s brand presence in the UK and ensure consistent brand positioning across all channels.
  • Plan and deliver product launches, digital campaigns, PR activities, exhibitions, customer events and vehicle test-drive programmes.
  • Research customer needs, market trends and competitor activity, providing feedback to the UK management team and headquarters to support product, pricing and business decisions.
  • Work closely with Sales, Product and Aftersales teams to develop marketing materials, generate customer leads and support dealer and fleet sales activities.
  • Oversee the Company’s UK website, social media channels and customer communications.
  • Develop product presentations, sales materials and brand or product training for employees, dealers and commercial partners.
  • Manage external marketing, PR, creative and event agencies, ensuring activities are delivered on time, within budget and to the required standard.
  • Monitor marketing performance, including campaign results, lead generation, customer engagement and return on investment.
  • Lead and develop the UK marketing team as the business grows (incl. future recruitment)
  • Represent the Company professionally at customer meetings, industry events and other external engagements.

Qualifications

Education

  • Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Project Management, or related fields
  • Education certifications will be required as part of back ground checks before employment

Professional Experience

Experience and Skills

  • Min. 10 years marketing experience, within automotive, preferably commercial vehicle industry
  • Proven experience of developing and delivering marketing strategies, product launches, across both Sales (Product) & Aftersales (Services) in the UK
  • Strong understanding of brand, digital marketing, communications and customer engagement
  • Experience of managing budgets, suppliers, agencies
  • Experience with Chinese Automotive OEMs is additional benefit

Technical Competencies

  • Strong technical product specification background capability
  • Strong familiarity in digital advertising, website development, google analytics, CRM & lead management
  • Ability to independently prepare technical proposals, RFQs, procurement SoWs and recommendations

Communication and Coordination Skills

  • Ability to independently organize and develop relationships with multiple suppliers and partnerships & professionally manage, track and report progress on multiple workstreams at once
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Good team collaboration spirit
  • Strong resilience

Leadership Abilities

  • Strong topic / thought leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Strong internal & external communication and stakeholder management skills

Work Environment

  • Delivering results in fast-paced and dynamic environments
  • Ability to work effectively across different functions, cultures and locations.
  • Flexibility to working hours in order to coordinate with China HQ (earlier mornings possible in the UK)
  • Represents company locally in UK when communicating with internal and external organizations

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK regularly, including overnight stays.
