Head of Marketing

Reports To: Managing Director of JMAC Hire & Sales

Package: Basic salary up to £75,000 plus a car allowance (£700 per month) and up to 15% bonus

The Role

The Head of Marketing will be responsible for the management and organisation of the marketing function within the Group, with direct responsibility for multiple businesses’ online presence and marketing strategies. Working alongside the Managing Director of Hire & Sales, the role will influence strategic decisions, make financial sense of new opportunities, and suggest new ideas through the use of analytics and ROI versus marketing spend.

Marketing reporting processes and systems require development through the continual improvement of reporting output. The role will drive change and maximise brand awareness and ROI within the marketing function, while increasing efficiency and maintaining and increasing effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Growth

  • Support the Group’s business growth goals through developing and leading effective marketing strategies
  • Establish new and innovative ideas to drive growth and brand
  • Identify activities and opportunities globally that will allow recommendations on future business decision-making and proactive planning
  • Support management in strategy and performance through brand and marketing awareness

Digital, Brand & Campaigns

  • Further develop and drive the digital strategies within the Group to take advantage of brand opportunities for our products and services
  • Explore new technologies to understand how the department can be continually developed
  • Work closely with the National Sales Manager to effectively campaign to push certain products in the market
  • Improve and develop website content, brand awareness, and marketing documentation to be used by the Group’s operational and sales teams nationwide
  • Analyse consumer behaviour and adjust email and advertising campaigns accordingly

Reporting, Analytics & ROI

  • Evaluate and remain aware of key market data and customer needs to ensure that our marketing strategies are effective
  • Work with external marketing resources (e.g. social media, website) with a real focus on ROI, reporting results to the Managing Director on a regular basis
  • Produce timely and accurate monthly reports showing the performance of the marketing function
  • Take ownership and delivery of a robust strategy and reporting function to the Directors and senior management, with commentary and advice on findings
  • Explain complex analytical data (SEO, PPC and various social campaigns) clearly and accurately to other members of the team in order to drive company KPIs and compliance across the business
  • Support the development of reporting and tools used to drive functional Key Performance Indicators and marketing spend aimed at maximising company performance
  • Measure and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, gaining insight and assessing against goals

Budget & Commercial Management

  • Manage budgets and the Group marketing spend per annum across multiple business units

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Play a key role within the management team of the Group, reporting on successes and driving improvements
  • Provide marketing guidance to fellow staff
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Directors, the senior leadership team, and other departmental managers, to improve awareness of strategic planning and to demonstrate how the marketing approach, strategy, and spend impacts on KPIs
  • Work effectively with external companies, including agencies, where required
  • Build relationships and work together effectively with all internal departments across all business units
