Head of Marketing – Retail | West Yorkshire (office-based minimum 4 days a week)

I'm working with a long-established West Yorkshire clothing business on a new marketing hire. This well respected business has been dressing people well for over a century and their retail side is growing with new stores opening, a loyal customer base and ambition behind it. They are looking for their first Head of Marketing for the retail arm; however this role will most likely suit a Marketing Manager who is ready to own a marketing function and lead.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You will ideally have experience of brand, ecommerce, campaigns, creative, web and be keen to manage a small team. This role will be a mix of setting direction one minute and getting stuck into delivery the next so if you enjoy the idea of shaping a brand rather than just maintaining one this will be a good fit.
