About the Business

Our client is one of the UK's fastest-growing premium, subscription-led brands — a genuine disruptor that has built a loyal, high-value customer base by doing things differently to everyone else in its space. It's backed by significant investment and has almost 10 successful years of trading behind it, making this a secure, well-established business rather than an early-stage gamble — but one that is only just getting started on its growth story.

The business is entering its next phase of scale and is looking for an experienced marketing leader to own the strategy that gets it there — combining brand and growth with a genuine understanding of its customers. For confidentiality reasons we're unable to name the business at this stage — full details will be shared with shortlisted candidates.

The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced, commercially minded Head of Marketing to own marketing strategy end-to-end — from brand and acquisition through to lifecycle, CRM and retention. This is a rare opportunity to build and lead the marketing function for a business that already has strong foundations in customer data and lifecycle marketing, and wants a leader who will build on that rather than start from scratch.

You'll set the strategy, own the budget, build and lead a growing team, and work closely with the CEO to shape the next phase of growth. Crucially, this isn't a role for someone who only thinks about acquisition — we need someone who understands the full customer lifecycle, and who sees retention, CRM and lifetime value as being just as important as new customer growth.

What You'll Be Doing

Marketing Strategy & Leadership

  • Own the marketing strategy and budget end-to-end, reporting directly to the CEO
  • Build, lead and develop a high-performing marketing team as the function scales
  • Set clear commercial goals and KPIs across the full marketing mix, and report on performance to the leadership team

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Brand & Acquisition

  • Own brand positioning, tone of voice and creative direction, ensuring consistency across every channel
  • Lead acquisition and growth marketing, testing and scaling new channels to drive efficient, high-quality customer growth
  • Own the performance marketing budget and channel mix, balancing short-term acquisition with long-term brand building

CRM, Retention & Lifecycle

  • Own the CRM, email and lifecycle marketing strategy, ensuring it's treated as just as high a priority as acquisition
  • Use customer data and segmentation to build personalised, behaviour-led journeys that improve retention, repeat purchase and lifetime value
  • Understand churn and disengagement across the customer base, and build proactive strategies to reduce it
  • Ensure retention, CRM and customer lifetime value are treated as core commercial metrics, not an afterthought

Data & Insight

  • Build a genuinely data-driven marketing function, using cohort, LTV and channel performance data to guide decisions
  • Create clear, regular reporting on acquisition, retention and overall marketing performance for the CEO and leadership team
  • Champion a test-and-learn culture across the full marketing mix, from acquisition messaging to lifecycle journeys

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Work closely with Product, Technology, Customer Experience and Operations to ensure marketing strategy is joined up with the wider business
  • Represent the voice of the customer at a senior level, using data and insight to influence decisions across the business

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Head of Marketing, Marketing Director or senior marketing leader within a D2C, subscription or high-frequency premium consumer brand
  • A genuine background in CRM, email marketing and retention — this is essential, not a nice-to-have
  • Experience owning both acquisition/growth marketing and lifecycle/retention marketing, with a clear view of how the two work together and a natural bias toward retention
  • Strong commercial acumen, with a solid understanding of CAC, LTV, cohorts and subscription economics
  • Experience building and leading a marketing team
  • Confident managing third-party relationships, particularly getting the best out of a marketing agency
  • Experience preparing board packs and investor reporting
  • Advanced CRM and lifecycle marketing experience, ideally with Klaviyo or a similar platform
  • Experience working within a premium, quality-led brand rather than a discount-driven one
  • Comfortable testing and scaling new channels in a fast-moving, high-growth environment
  • A hands-on, data-driven leader who is equally happy setting strategy and getting into the detail
