Head of Marketing
Location: London
Working pattern: Hybrid - 1 day per week in the office
Salary: Up to £120,000 + benefits + shares
About the Role
You've built the growth engine. Now take it further.
This is an opportunity for a senior growth or performance-led marketing leader to take the next step in their career and own the wider marketing function of a rapidly growing UK consumer business.
The business is already generating £10m+ in revenue, has around 60,000 paying weekly subscribers and is on a path towards £20m+ and beyond. Performance marketing has been a major driver of that growth. The acquisition engine is established, the numbers are working and the business has built significant traction with its customer base.
Now the challenge is different. The business needs to evolve beyond performance marketing. They are looking for someone who understands performance marketing at a deep level, but has also started to broaden their remit across brand, creative, CRM, retention, customer experience and the wider marketing strategy. This could be someone who has progressed from Head of Growth, Head of Performance or a similar role into a broader marketing leadership position, and is now ready to take full ownership of the next stage.
The Role
You'll work directly with the founders and take ownership of the marketing function as the business moves into its next phase of growth.
The immediate priority is not to move away from performance marketing. It's to build on what already works while developing the other parts of the marketing engine that will support the next stage of scale.
You'll be responsible for:
- Taking the business from £10m towards £20m+ in revenue
- Continuing to drive customer and subscriber acquisition through performance marketing
- Owning a significant UK-focused marketing budget
- Maintaining a strong focus on CAC, LTV, payback, conversion and retention
- Developing the marketing strategy beyond paid acquisition
- Building greater brand awareness and relevance with the target consumer
- Developing the creative proposition and ensuring the brand stands out as the business grows
- Expanding the marketing mix across channels including TV, OOH, influencers and partnerships
- Strengthening CRM, lifecycle and retention activity
- Working closely with CRO, analytics, creative and digital teams
- Understanding where performance marketing is reaching diminishing returns and identifying the next growth levers
- Building and leading the marketing team
- Working directly with the founders to shape the company's next stage of growth

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
The Person
The strongest candidates are likely to have started their career or developed their expertise in growth and performance marketing before taking on a broader remit.
You might currently be a:
- Head of Growth
- Head of Performance
- Head of Acquisition
- Growth Director
- Performance Marketing Director
- Head of Marketing with a strong performance background
What's important is what you've actually done, rather than your job title.
You'll ideally have:
- Experience scaling a UK-based, digital-first consumer business
- A track record of personally building or significantly developing a growth engine
- Experience operating through a period of rapid business growth, ideally around 50-100% YoY
- Strong hands-on understanding of performance marketing and customer acquisition
- Experience managing a significant UK-focused marketing budget
- Deep understanding of CAC, LTV, payback, conversion and retention
- Experience across Meta, Google and other paid acquisition channels
- Broadened your remit beyond performance into brand, creative, CRM, retention or customer experience
- Experience recognising when a performance-led growth model needs to evolve
- A track record of introducing or developing new channels without losing commercial discipline
- Experience working closely with founders or senior leadership in a high-growth consumer business
- The ability to combine detailed performance analysis with a broader view of the customer and brand
- Experience building and leading a team
This is the Important Bit
The client isn't looking for someone to simply come in and run the existing performance machine. They already have that. They're looking for the person who can take what is working and build the next layer around it.
Someone who understands why Meta is performing, knows what good CAC and LTV look like, understands the numbers inside out - but can also recognise that the next £10m of growth is going to require more than simply increasing paid media spend.

Get help with your application
Your very own career expert that helps elevate your application to the next level.
That means developing the brand, improving the customer proposition, strengthening retention, exploring new channels and creating a marketing function that can support the business at a much larger scale.
It's a natural next step for someone who has been heavily focused on growth and performance and is ready to take ownership of the full marketing picture.
What Makes This Opportunity Different?
You'll be joining a business that has already proven its model rather than trying to find product-market fit. There is a substantial subscriber base, a functioning acquisition engine and clear evidence of consumer demand.
The opportunity is to take that foundation and build something much broader.
You'll work directly with the founders, have genuine ownership of the marketing strategy and budget, and have the opportunity to shape how the brand develops as it scales from £10m towards £20m+.
There is also equity/share participation as part of the package, giving you the opportunity to share in the value you help create.
