Head of Marketing & Communications
Salary: £85,000 - £90,000 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Location: Stevenage, Hertfordshire – Hybrid working
This is a pivotal time to join their business, against an increasing national focus, the group is entering an important period of opportunity and growth which is why they are seeking an accomplished Head of Marketing & Communications to help shape how they position the Group, build on their growing profile and translate increased market and media attention into long term brand, stakeholder and commercial value.
This role will report to the Marketing/Commercial Director, and will lead the development and delivery of all their marketing, communications and PR strategies, strengthening their voice in the market, deepening relationships with key stakeholders and supporting the continued growth and development for the Group.
The Role
This is a senior leadership role combining strategic marketing, communications, PR, brand and commercial growth working with a wider senior leadership team, you will develop and deliver an integrated marketing and communications strategy that raises the profile of the group, strengthen it’s reputation and support growth across its different business areas.
As part of a relatively lean organisation, you will need to be someone who is equally comfortable contributing strategically at senior level and taking a hands on approach to delivery when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver the Group's marketing and communications strategy in partnership with the Marketing/Commercial Director and aligned to wider organisational and commercial priorities.
- Provide senior marketing and communications expertise to the Marketing/Commercial Director and wider leadership team.
- Shape and strengthen the Group's positioning, messaging and external narrative.
- Build on the Group's growing profile through proactive PR, media engagement, thought leadership and strategic communications.
- Identify opportunities arising from developments in consumer affairs, regulation, public policy and relevant markets.
- Strengthen the Group's reputation and visibility amongst businesses, consumers, government, regulators and other key stakeholders.
- Lead B2B marketing activity supporting membership growth.
- Develop targeted campaigns that generate high quality leads and support sustainable commercial growth.
- Own the Group's content strategy across thought leadership, PR, website, social media, case studies and corporate communications.
- Develop and oversee a programme of events, roundtables, webinars, industry engagement and stakeholder forums.
- Lead digital marketing activity including LinkedIn, email marketing, website optimisation, SEO and appropriate paid activity.
- Protect and enhance the reputation of the Group through high quality, accurate and ethical communications.
- Manage external PR, marketing and specialist agency relationships.
- Develop meaningful reporting covering brand reach, engagement, campaign performance, lead generation, conversion and ROI.
- Manage marketing budgets effectively and demonstrate the contribution marketing makes to organisational objectives.
- Build the marketing capability required to support the future needs and growth of the Group.

You will need to be an experienced senior marketing and communications leader with the credibility to operate effectively with senior stakeholders and the commercial awareness to translate strategy into measurable results.

Bringing the following experience and knowledge:
- Significant senior level marketing and communications leadership experience.
- A strong track record of developing and delivering organisation wide marketing and communications strategies.
- Strong PR, media relations and corporate communications capability.
- Experience developing brand positioning, corporate narrative and thought leadership.
- Evidence of delivering measurable commercial growth, lead generation or market development.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing, CRM, automation and marketing analytics.
- Experience managing agencies, suppliers and budgets.
- A strategic and analytical mindset combined with a pragmatic, hands-on approach.
- The ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving, evolving environment.
Experience within a regulated, professional services, membership, consumer affairs, public policy or purpose led organisation would be particularly advantageous
