Head of Marketing and Revenue

Based at: Cheltenham Racecourse

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

About the Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Head of Marketing & Revenue to spearhead the marketing and revenue strategy for Cheltenham Racecourse. This influential leadership role will be central to driving commercial growth, delivering measurable results, and maximising revenue opportunities across the business. As a member of the Cheltenham senior management team, you will help shape the future direction of the racecourse while playing a key role in the successful delivery of major events.

The Jockey Club stages thrilling sporting occasions and live events nationwide including The Grand National, The Cheltenham Festival & The Derby. Owning & operating 15 courses, millions of people every year enjoy the special experiences we offer through racing, music, food and entertainment on racedays and beyond.

The Head of Marketing and Revenue will

  • Lead and deliver the marketing and revenue strategy for Cheltenham Racecourse, driving sustainable commercial growth and performance.
  • Own pricing, budgeting and revenue planning, maximising opportunities across admissions, memberships, music and commercial activities.
  • Develop data-led customer acquisition and retention strategies, using insight to enhance performance and customer value.
  • Shape and execute integrated marketing campaigns that grow audiences, strengthen the brand and deliver measurable ROI.
  • Drive long-term growth of Cheltenham's major festivals, influencing product, pricing, audience, marketing and brand strategy.
  • Identify and unlock new revenue streams, leading commercial negotiations and developing strategic partnerships to maximise racecourse assets.
  • Champion exceptional customer experiences, overseeing race day themes, entertainment and event delivery to drive attendance and satisfaction.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team, creating a culture of accountability, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Play a key role within the Cheltenham senior management team, shaping racecourse strategy, fostering community relationships and collaborating across The Jockey Club to deliver business-wide success.

About You

  • Proven experience in a senior marketing, commercial or revenue leadership role within sport, entertainment or a comparable customer-focused industry.
  • A strong track record of delivering ambitious revenue growth and exceeding commercial targets.
  • Demonstrable experience developing and executing successful marketing and revenue strategies.
  • An inspiring people leader, with a proven ability to build, motivate and develop high-performing teams.
  • Commercially astute, with strong sales, negotiation and business development skills.
  • A strategic thinker who can identify opportunities, solve complex challenges and drive sustainable growth.
  • An exceptional communicator, capable of influencing and building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Data-driven and insight-led, using analysis and customer understanding to inform decision-making and maximise performance.
  • Resilient, innovative and results-focused, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and deliver under pressure.
