Head of Marketing & Communications | Social Impact Real Estate Scale-up

Location: London or Manchester (Hybrid) - 4 days in-office
Salary: Up to £90k + Bonus

We're recruiting for a fast-growing, purpose-led real estate group tackling one of the UK's biggest challenges: the shortage of affordable housing.

They partner with Local Authorities, housebuilders and institutional investors to deliver high-quality affordable homes at scale, helping people into homes they couldn't otherwise afford.

After securing significant institutional investment, they're now building a national portfolio.

They've never had a dedicated marketer, until now, and there's a lot worth talking about. This is where you come in...

The Role

This is the first marketing hire within a company of c50 employees, a genuine blank canvas.

You'd create the marketing and comms strategy and plan, then deliver it yourself.

You'd be supported by an in-house Brand Manager, AI Manager and the leadership team, and there are plans to grow the team over time.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You'd own:

  • Marketing and communications strategy, narrative and messaging b2b/b2c
  • PR, including managing an external PR agency
  • Thought leadership, including building the profiles of a strong senior leadership team
  • Social media and LinkedIn, using AI to work smarter
  • Investor and stakeholder materials
  • The marketing budget, including what to do in-house and what to outsource

You'd be telling one story to two very different audiences: institutional investors, developers and councils on one side, and residents and first-time buyers on the other. Getting that balance right is a big part of the job.

What You'll Bring

  • 10+ years in marketing, communications or PR
  • A track record of building a marketing function, ideally as a first or foundational hire
  • Strong PR experience, including handling sensitive or complex topics
  • Experience of securing press coverage
  • Excellent writing, and real creativity. You'll make a traditional sector sound anything but
  • Confidence with AI and social media
  • A hands-on, commercial, low-ego approach. Culture fit matters a lot here
