Head of Marketing & Communications

📍 UK | Full-Time | Leadership Role

Are you a strategic marketer who loves rolling up your sleeves and making things happen? APSCo is looking for an experienced Head of Marketing & Communications to lead and deliver our marketing strategy, strengthen our brand, drive member engagement, and support our ambitious growth plans across the UK and globally.

This is a unique opportunity for a commercially minded marketing leader who can balance big-picture thinking with hands-on delivery. You'll lead an established team of three, work closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation, and play a key role in shaping the future direction of APSCo.

APSCo (The Association of Professional Staffing Companies) is the leading body for the professional staffing eco-system, supporting recruitment businesses through expert insight, networking, research, training and trusted compliance guidance. Representing members across the UK and internationally, we champion excellence, innovation and best practice.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 per annum
  • Working Pattern: Hybrid - in London office 3 days per week
  • Benefits: 25 days holiday, increasing to 30, plus Christmas closure; benefits package including GP, counselling, physio and discounted gym membership, discounted private health cover, mental health support, workplace pension with 5% employer contribution.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for developing and delivering APSCo UK's marketing and communications strategy, ensuring our services, events, research, thought leadership, and member benefits are effectively promoted to existing and prospective members. You'll be at the heart of the organisation, collaborating across teams to create impactful campaigns, enhance member engagement, increase brand awareness, and drive inbound lead generation.

Key Responsibilities

As Head of Marketing & Communications, you will:

  • Develop and implement APSCo's annual marketing and communications strategy
  • Lead integrated campaigns that promote member services, training, research, events & new initiatives
  • Create compelling content and communications across digital, social, email, PR and web channels
  • Strengthen and protect the APSCo brand in the UK and internationally
  • Drive inbound lead generation and marketing automation through HubSpot and CRM systems
  • Manage PR activity, media relations, thought leadership and research publication
  • Monitor campaign performance, analyse marketing data and provide actionable insights
  • Lead, mentor and inspire a high-performing marketing team
  • Manage budgets effectively and deliver measurable return on investment
  • Partner with internal teams and APSCo Global colleagues to deliver shared organisational objectives

  • 5+ years' experience in a senior Marketing & Communications leadership role
  • Proven experience developing and delivering successful marketing strategies
  • Strong digital marketing expertise across content, social media, email marketing and lead generation
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience managing and developing high-performing teams
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn data into actionable insights
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement capabilities
  • A proactive, solutions-focused and results-driven approach
  • Experience with HubSpot and marketing automation platforms (highly desirable)
  • Knowledge of the recruitment, staffing or professional membership sector (advantageous not essential)
