Head of Marketing & Communications
Location: London
Working pattern: Four days in the office, one day from home
Robert Half is partnering with a fast-growing social impact real estate group to recruit a Head of Marketing & Communications.
The organisation works with local authorities, institutional investors, and housing partners to help address the UK’s shortage of affordable housing. Operating across several brands, it combines a clear social purpose with ambitious plans for growth.
This is a broad, hands-on position for someone who can set the Group’s marketing and communications strategy while remaining closely involved in delivery. Reporting to the Group Managing Director, you will shape how the organisation presents itself to partners, investors, the media, and the wider sector.
Role Responsibilities:
- Developing and delivering the Group marketing and communications strategy
- Defining the organisation’s external narrative, messaging, and positioning
- Building its reputation as a credible voice within its sector
- Leading PR, media relations, and thought leadership activity
- Managing the relationship with the external PR agency
- Creating high-quality content, articles, announcements, and marketing materials
- Overseeing internal communications in partnership with People and leadership teams
- Developing marketing campaigns and digital-led strategies
- Managing the marketing budget and allocating investment effectively
- Ensuring consistency across multiple Group brands and communications channels
- Working closely with the Managing Director, Brand Manager, Junior Designer, and senior stakeholders
- Reviewing existing marketing activity and establishing a clear roadmap for improvement

The Successful Candidate
You will be a commercially minded marketing and communications generalist who combines strategic thinking with a willingness to execute.
You are likely to bring:
- Broad experience across marketing, corporate communications, PR, and brand
- Evidence of developing or improving a marketing and communications function
- Strong writing, storytelling, and content creation skills
- The ability to translate complex information into clear and engaging narratives
- Experience advising and influencing senior leaders
- A creative, entrepreneurial, and solutions-focused approach
- Confidence working across multiple brands and stakeholder groups
- The ability to collaborate effectively without relying on direct reporting lines
- A genuine interest in purpose-led business and social impact
- Experience using AI and digital tools to improve efficiency and output
Experience within real estate, housing, PropTech, infrastructure, the public sector, or another regulated environment would be advantageous. Candidates from entrepreneurial start-up or scale-up environments are also strongly encouraged to apply.

They need someone with entrepreneurial flair who can move comfortably between strategy and execution. You might already be operating at Head of level, or you could be ready to step up after building broad experience within a start-up, scale-up, or purpose-led organisation.
First 90 Days
Your initial priorities will include:
- Auditing the Group’s existing marketing assets, channels, and messaging
- Developing a clear marketing and communications roadmap
- Establishing a consistent content and communications cadence
- Improving the Group’s LinkedIn and external presence
- Strengthening investor and partner-facing materials
- Identifying immediate PR and thought leadership opportunities
- Building effective internal communications processes
Package and Working Environment
- Salary of £60,000 to £80,000, depending on experience
- Four days per week in the London office
- One flexible working-from-home day
- Flexible start time between 7:00am and 10:00am
