Head of Marketing & Communications (Part-Time)
Location: Newport, Isle of Wight (Hybrid)
Job Type: Permanent, Part-Time (20 hours per week)
Working Pattern: Flexible hours, ideally across 4 days per week
Join a leading engineering and manufacturing company delivering innovative technology solutions for the defence, military and homeland security sectors.
We are looking for an experienced Head of Marketing & Communications to lead our marketing function and oversee both internal and external communications. This is an excellent opportunity for a strategic marketing professional who enjoys working within a technical, engineering or manufacturing environment and wants the flexibility of a part-time role.
Working closely with senior leadership, you will shape and deliver the company's operational marketing strategy while promoting products, capabilities and brand across the UK and group.
What You'll Be Doing
As Head of Marketing & Communications, you will:
- Develop and implement the annual operational marketing strategy alongside the Business Development, Sales & Strategy Director.
- Lead all external marketing activities, ensuring products and engineering capabilities are effectively promoted.
- Manage the company's digital presence, including the website and social media channels.
- Oversee exhibitions, conferences and events, working with the Marketing Assistant to deliver engaging marketing materials.
- Create and manage press releases, advertising campaigns, white papers, brochures, datasheets and video content.
- Coordinate internal communications and corporate messaging.
- Manage the marketing budget and provide input into annual business planning.
- Coordinate product photography and branded merchandise.
- Present the company at customer meetings, exhibitions and industry events when required.
- Ensure compliance with corporate marketing standards, quality procedures and brand guidelines.
- Line manage and support the development of the Marketing Assistant.

About You
We're looking for someone who brings:
Essential
- Proven experience in a senior Marketing and Communications role.
- Strong copywriting and content creation skills with excellent written English.
- Experience delivering marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
- A collaborative approach with the confidence to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- A commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
Desirable
- Experience within engineering, manufacturing, technology or defence sectors.
- Knowledge of military, defence or homeland security markets.
- Understanding of ISO9001 or regulated manufacturing environments.
- Marketing, Communications or Business Management qualification.

Working Arrangements
- Permanent part-time position (20 hours per week).
- Flexible working pattern, ideally over four days, although we are happy to discuss alternative arrangements.
- Hybrid working available following initial training.
- Based primarily at Newport, Isle of Wight, with occasional travel to Southampton or UK/international events.
