Job Purpose
The Head of Marketing is responsible for defining and leading the company's marketing strategy, ensuring marketing activity supports the achievement of business growth, customer acquisition, brand development, and commercial objectives.
This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role requiring an individual who can develop long-term marketing initiatives while remaining closely involved in key campaigns, business development activity, and market positioning. Working as a member of the senior leadership team, the Head of Marketing will provide direction, governance, and oversight of all marketing activity while empowering the Marketing Manager to lead day-to-day campaign execution and delivery.
The successful candidate will bring significant experience from the powered access, plant hire, equipment rental, construction, industrial services, or related sectors, with a strong understanding of customer requirements, market dynamics, and routes to market.
Required Skills & Experience
Essential
- Proven experience in a senior marketing leadership role.
- Experience within the powered access, plant hire, tool hire, equipment rental, construction, industrial services, engineering, or related sectors.
- A strong understanding of the customer landscape, commercial drivers, routes to market, and competitive dynamics within the hire industry.
- Demonstrable success in developing and delivering marketing strategies that drive business growth.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing channels and lead generation methodologies.
- Experience managing marketing budgets and external agencies.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to translate business objectives into effective marketing strategies.
- Experience influencing senior stakeholders and operating within leadership teams.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of CRM and marketing automation platforms.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with practical execution.
- Experience working cross-functionally with People/HR leaders to support organisational communications, ensuring business messaging is clear, consistent, and aligned with company values and objectives.
