Head of Marketing
Fully Remote | Global, Independent Growth Agency | £50,000 - £60,000
About Webtopia
Webtopia is a global, remote-first independent growth agency, led by twins Tris and Ben Dyer. Tris brings the long-term vision; both are driven by a shared curiosity about how brands grow and what it takes to build something that lasts.
Today we support brands across fashion, beauty, health and wellness, home, jewellery and more. Our work blends creative thinking, data-led strategy and performance expertise, grounded in a belief in people and the brands they're building.
We're a lean, deliberately-not-scaling team of around 20 people across Webtopia and Oaks. Rather than growing headcount for its own sake, we hold ourselves to a target of £100k+ revenue per head - which means every hire matters and every team member owns real client outcomes.
Why This Role Exists
Our inbound engine is in good hands - we have a dedicated closer who converts inbound demand into new partners. What we don't yet have is someone who owns outbound: building a predictable, repeatable pipeline of qualified conversations with the brands we most want to work with.
We're currently at around $200k/month in revenue, with a clear target of $320k/month. This hire is the lever that closes that gap. You'll be building Webtopia's outbound function from the ground up, and you'll be measured on the pipeline you create.
The Role
As Head of Marketing, you'll own Webtopia's own growth — designing and running the outbound engine that fills our pipeline with sales qualified leads (SQLs), nurturing them until they're ready, and handing warm, well-qualified opportunities to our closer. You'll report directly to Tris and sit at the top of our structure alongside Ben (Head of Growth) and Tina (Head of Client Strategy).
You'll start hands-on, building the engine yourself. As it proves itself, you'll grow the marketing function into a department of its own, hiring and leading your own direct reports.
Outbound Strategy & Pipeline
- Build and own Webtopia's outbound marketing strategy, starting with a sharp ideal client profile (ICP) across our core verticals
- Design and run multi-touch outbound programmes across email, LinkedIn, content-led outreach, partnerships and events
- Build and maintain target account lists and prospecting data, and own the outbound tech stack
- Own the SQL target and the full funnel from first touch to booked call
- Agree a clear SQL definition and handover process with our closer, so every lead passed over is genuinely ready for a sales conversation
Lead Nurturing & Handover
- Build nurture journeys that keep prospects warm until the timing is right - email sequences, retargeting, content and personal follow-up
- Respond to and follow up on engaged prospects quickly, within UK and US business hours
- Work hand-in-glove with our closer, running a tight feedback loop on lead quality, objections and win/loss reasons

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Brand, Content & Positioning
- Own Webtopia's positioning and messaging - making it unmistakably clear why brands should choose a lean, partner-led agency
- Turn our client results and case studies into outbound assets that open doors
- Support founder-led content for Tris and Ben, particularly on LinkedIn
- Own the performance of our website and landing pages as conversion points for outbound activity
Reporting & Commercial Ownership
- Report weekly to the leadership team on activity, SQLs, conversion rates, pipeline value and cost per SQL
- Forecast pipeline against our revenue target and flag early when we're off track
- Manage the marketing budget with a test-and-learn mindset - double down on what works, cut what doesn't
Leadership Scope
- Act as a senior member of the leadership team, shaping company direction alongside Tris, Ben and Tina
- Build the marketing function deliberately, deciding what to automate with AI, what to outsource and when to hire, in line with our revenue-per-head principle
- Hire, lead and develop your own team as the department grows, and own how it operates
- Work with Pod Leads to surface client wins, case studies and referral opportunities
- Bring a team-first mindset and set the example for others
What Success Looks Like
Your final-stage strategy task becomes the starting point for a 30/60/90-day plan we'll agree together when you join. As a guide:
- First 30 days: audit our current pipeline, positioning and tools; agree ICP, SQL definition and handover process with the closer; launch first outbound tests
- First 60 days: a consistent outbound engine running across at least two channels, with weekly reporting in place and early SQLs flowing
- First 90 days: a predictable monthly SQL volume agreed against the $320k/month target, with a clear view of which channels to scale
A Day in the Life
Expect a mix of building and doing: reviewing pipeline and campaign performance, writing and refining outreach, following up with engaged prospects, syncing with our closer on lead quality, and working with Tris and the leadership team on where to focus next. Early on, much of the work will be hands-on - this is a Head of role for someone who's happy to build the engine themselves before anyone else drives it.
What You'll Bring
Experience
- 5+ years in B2B marketing, with a strong outbound or demand generation focus
- A proven track record of generating SQLs at volume and being accountable to pipeline and revenue numbers
- Experience marketing services to brands - agency, ecommerce SaaS or similar is ideal
- A solid understanding of DTC, ecommerce and paid social - you'll be talking to founders and marketing leads who live in Meta Ads Manager
- Hands-on with outbound tooling, CRM and marketing automation
- Experience building a function or leading a team, or a clear appetite to do so
- Experience selling into the UK and US markets desirable

- A builder's mindset - comfortable starting from a blank page and creating structure
- Data-led: you know your numbers and use them to make decisions
- An excellent writer - you can write outreach that people actually reply to
- AI fluency is a hard requirement - we expect you to be actively using AI tools across research, prospecting, copy and reporting

Location & Working Hours
This role is fully remote, but we're looking for someone based in the UK or US. Lead nurturing depends on fast, same-day responses to prospects in those markets, so you'll need to work hours with substantial overlap with UK and/or US business days.
Our Values
Our values come first - literally. They're the basis of the first stage of our interview process, before we even get into skills and experience:
- Partner Obsession - we think alongside our clients, not just for them

- Integrity - we do right by our clients and each other, even when it's hard
- Curiosity & Growth - we stay hungry to learn, question assumptions, and keep getting better
Compensation & Benefits

- Performance bonus tied to sales qualified leads - structure to be agreed
- Fully flexible remote working
- £50/month wellness allowance
- £50 tech budget
- £25 gift card for your birthday and work anniversary
- Health Assured, plus Wisdom
- Remote-first, with in-person co-working meet-ups
Our Interview Process
We keep it to two stages, and we respect your time:
Application
- Stage 1: Values & experience interview (45 minutes) - assessed against our core values, plus your outbound track record
- Stage 2: Paid strategy task & presentation (60 minutes) - you'll build an outbound strategy for Webtopia and present it to the leadership team
We pay candidates for the Stage 2 task. We want your best thinking, not a rushed version squeezed into an evening, and it shows we're serious about the hire. The successful candidate's task becomes the foundation of their 30/60/90-day plan.
