Job Description

As Head of Marketing & Commercial Planning & Delivery, you will ensure the Marketing & Commercial function has the capacity, capability, resources and delivery plans required to execute its strategic priorities and customer commitments successfully.

You will provide a forward-looking view of demand, capacity, capability and delivery requirements across the function. Acting as the bridge between business demand and delivery capability, you will help teams prioritise and resource their work effectively, identify risks early and deliver outstanding outcomes for fans, partners and licensees.

You will establish and lead the Marketing & Commercial Planning & Delivery capability, developing the frameworks, processes, reporting and supporting technology needed to create greater visibility, agility and scalability across the organisation.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Establish and lead the Marketing & Commercial planning and resource management framework.
  • Maintain a forward-looking view of demand, capacity, capability and delivery priorities across all functions.
  • Work with functional leaders to balance priorities, optimise resource allocation and develop workforce-planning recommendations.
  • Identify capability gaps and recommend appropriate solutions, including recruitment, upskilling and external support.
  • Maintain oversight of team capacity, workload and delivery commitments across the Marketing & Commercial portfolio.
  • Ensure campaigns, activations, programmes, projects and partner commitments are planned and resourced effectively.
  • Identify delivery risks caused by workload, competing priorities or capability constraints, providing clear escalation routes and recommendations.
  • Support commercial proposals, partner pitches and strategic growth opportunities by evaluating their resource, capability and delivery requirements.
  • Help ensure contractual obligations and customer commitments are supported by realistic and achievable delivery plans.
  • Develop the approach to managing agencies, freelancers and specialist partners, ensuring external support is aligned with business priorities.
  • Partner with Finance and Procurement to support resource and operational financial planning, forecasting and supplier governance.
  • Establish meaningful planning, resource and delivery key performance indicators, supported by reporting and dashboards.
  • Define and implement technology requirements for resource planning, workflow management and delivery oversight.
  • Work with Technology and Artificial Intelligence teams to identify opportunities for automation, improved forecasting and smarter resource management.
  • Build a culture of proactive planning, accountability and continuous improvement, acting as a trusted adviser to Marketing & Commercial leadership.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
